Welcome to another busy weekend at the Universal Orlando Resort! The parks have been a lot busier lately, but today really wasn’t as crowded as we expected. We started our day at Universal Studios Florida and discovered that hand sanitizer is now optional on attractions.
Previously, guests were given hand sanitizer to use before boarding ride vehicles, but now it is no longer required.
Wait times were low around the park in the morning, but we noticed Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure was back to using Virtual Line.
Tables have returned to the grassy area in front of the stage.
The new DreamWorks Destination character meet and greet is in technical rehearsals. You can see more photos and videos in our post here.
KidZone Pizza Company was open, but sadly, there are no pizza fries on the menu.
Over at Islands of Adventure, we noticed the Jurassic Park arch is getting some much needed TLC. There are markings on the arch that look to be covering small cracks. We’re hoping this entrance arch is just getting a fresh coat of paint ahead of the grand opening of VelociCoaster.
VelociCoaster was open and only had a 55 minute wait this afternoon. The courtyard area has had the trees barricaded, but 2 of the trees have gotten new grates at their bases and the barricades have been removed.
Relationship goals.
The lines for food around the parks are ridiculous. Wait times for rides have improved greatly, but getting food takes way too long. Let’s hope Universal comes up with a plan before the summer crowds arrive.
The taxi photo op at Port of Entry has returned after being gone for a few weeks. It looks nice and refreshed now.
That’s all for this trip to the Universal Orlando Resort. Thanks for joining us around the parks today and be sure to stay tuned to Universal Parks News Today for all the latest updates.
I’d much rather have the hand sanitizer. Even before all this Covid stuff.
