Construction walls now surround and block from view the lobby of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, which is closed for refurbishment.
The elevators, escalators, restrooms, and walkways to bus transportation and the Convention Center remain open. The front desk is available on the second floor.
The refurbishment is set to be complete in late September and will feature an enhanced check-in experience offering an open, free-flowing layout with enhanced seating locations.
A collection of modern art pieces, as well as behind-the-scenes photographs of the development and construction of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, will be on display.
The lobby of Disney’s Contemporary Resort is just one of several at Walt Disney World hotels being refurbished at this time.
The Wave… of American Flavors and The Wave Lounge are also closed, possibly for an Incredibles overlay to match the updated resort hotel rooms.
We saw a sign in this area recently prohibiting photography, but it’s gone now.

Wow how beauitful! Staying at one of the most overpriced hotels you get to look at giant pieces of construction plywood! Totally worth thousands of dollars
always wanted to stay at contemporary. but since they are not part of dvc, i really cannot afford the rates. did stay at baylake one time. in my opinion there are better dvc resorts to stay at. basically just a grand hotel compared to other disney deluxe properties. people, old key west one bedrooms are the best. tons of room and still full spa tubs for two. just like saratoga used to be.
Staying here right now and had no idea any of this was going to take place. It is so loud and difficult to get to everything. All we hear is a jack hammer while laying at the pool.
