We saw two friends over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom today at Walt Disney World. Goofy and Flik were both available this morning for a character meet-and-greet. According to Cast Members, Princess Atta from Pixar’s “A Bug’s Life” will also be available to meet starting tomorrow.

Goofy

Goofy is looking ready for adventure today. Looks like it’s time break out our imaginary binoculars and spot some animals around Disney’s Animal Kingdom with one of our silliest pals. He’s wearing his outfit from the extinct Camp Minnie-Mickey, which was replaced by Pandora – The World of Avatar.

Goofy watches for birds and wildlife through his invisible binoculars. He’s sporting a vest with patches, a plaid flannel shirt, and a red and blue ball cap.

Flik

Flik was excited to come out of the anthill to say hi to everyone today.

According to Cast Members, Princess Atta will be joining Flik for a meet and greet opportunity beginning tomorrow.

Animal Kingdom’s Silver Anniversary

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will celebrate its 25th anniversary this year, and the park has already announced various special offerings, snacks, merchandise, and commemorations for the event.

The Animal Kingdom 25th anniversary collection will be released at Island Mercantile, Discovery Trading Company, and Mombasa Marketplace on Earth Day, April 22. This is the same day the park had its grand opening in 1998.

Disney PhotoPass will offer both Earth Month and 25th anniversary photo ops around Animal Kingdom starting tomorrow. These include special props, Magic Shots, and more. Another highly anticipated photo op — the Moana meet and greet — will begin on April 22.

From April 16 to April 23, Wilderness Explorers have the chance to earn a special badge by completing a limited-time nature challenge. More information is available at any of the Wilderness Explorer locations.

A limited edition (of one thousand) pin set for D23 Gold Members was announced last week, and arrived on shopDisney April 18. For regular guests, a separate limited edition Earth Month pin is available for purchase in the park right now.

More treats will be available starting April 22, including the Colossal Elephant Roll and 25th Anniversary Alive with Magic Cupcake. A 25th Anniversary Dessert Platter will be available at Tiffins Restaurant, coinciding with a 25th Anniversary Earth Tart at Tusker House Restaurant.
