The Br’er Rabbit bronze statue has been removed from Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris.

We captured photos of the statue during our recent visit to Disneyland Paris. These statues are near the Sorcerer Hat tower of the Animation Celebration building.

Br’er Rabbit was on a blue column next to the statue of Genie from “Aladdin.”

DLP Report shared on Twitter today that Br’er Rabbit had been removed.

Not only that, but the Genie statue was actually moved to Br’er Rabbit’s previous position closer to the sidewalk.

“Song of the South” References

This is just the latest reference to “Song of the South” to be removed from Disney Parks. Of course, Splash Mountain at both Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom have closed to make way for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, although Splash Mountain remains open at Tokyo Disneyland.

These bronze statues are identical to those that were once in the Hub of Magic Kingdom. Br’er Rabbit and the other Magic Kingdom statues were removed to make way for the golden Fab 50 statues in 2021. Copies of these statues also exist on the walkway from Maihama Station to Tokyo Disneyland. Last we checked, Br’er Rabbit was still there.

But other references to the controversial film have also been removed as Disney works harder to be more inclusive and sensitive to offensive material.

“Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah” has been removed from several locations, including the Magic Kingdom entrance. It was gone from the Festival of Fantasy Parade upon its return in March 2022 and from “Let the Magic Begin” in 2021. The song was removed from the Disneyland Resort esplanade in 2020, and from Tokyo Disneyland in September 2022.

Br’er Rabbit and Br’er Bear no longer appear in the Frontierland hoedown at Magic Kingdom.
