The AquaMouse water slide aboard the Disney Wish is the “first attraction at sea.” Unlike the AquaDuck on other Disney Cruise Line ships, the AquaMouse incorporates two original stories from the animated world of Mickey Mouse.
The AquaMouse is a suspended tunnel encircling the top decks of the Disney Wish.
There is a posted wait time at the entrance to the AquaMouse on deck 13. Unlike the AquaDuck, the exit of the attraction is on the same deck.
Pool vests, floats, fun noodles, snorkel tubes, and swim masks that cover the eyes and nose are not permitted on the AquaMouse (swim masks are permitted at pools). Swim goggles that go over only the eyes are permitted. Coast Guard personal flotation devices (PFDs), water wings, and flotation sewn into bathing suits are also permitted.
Only children who are toilet-trained are permitted in swimming pools, spas, and slides on cruise ships. Swim diapers are not permitted in any swim areas or on the AquaMouse.
Kids under 7 must ride with someone 14 years of age or older. Guests 7 years or older may ride alone. Guests must be 42″ or taller to ride with someone, and single riders must be 54″ or taller.
For the first 75 seconds of the attraction, guests (on a raft) are lifted on a conveyor belt through an enclosed tube. They pass nine porthole screens showing one of the two stories. “The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse” composer Christopher Willis created original music scores for the attraction.
Sixty different water nozzles and effects surround the portholes, synchronizing with the animated shorts.
After the porthole screens, guests ride through the transparent portion of the tube and land in a lazy river back near the entrance.
Watch our POV video on the AquaMouse in the video below. Our Mickey short was “Scuba Scramble.”
Scuba Scramble
Here is Disney’s official description of “Scuba Scramble”:
Mickey and Minnie are starting their very own seaside excursion company—aptly named “Port Misadventures”—on board the Disney Wish. Join them on an undersea excursion to Mermaid Lagoon that’s filled with laughs and surprises.
Swiss Meltdown
“Swiss Meltdown” is inspired by the “Yodelberg” short. Here is Disney’s official description:
Mickey and Minnie invite you on a mountain sledding excursion that will inevitably—and hilariously—go awry. When the sun comes out and the snow begins to melt, you’ll be off on a frantic dash to the mountaintop while trying to avoid obstacles like avalanches, leaky rock walls and waterfalls—oh, boy!
