Two characters dressed as captains stand on a cruise ship deck, smiling and waving. Behind them is the Disney Treasure cruise ship, with water and a partly cloudy sky in the background.

Ahead of the Disney Treasure’s maiden voyage, Disney has announced that there will be a live stream of the new Disney Cruise Line ship’s christening.

Disney Treasure Christening Livestream

A large cruise ship, the Disney Treasure, with two red and black funnels, is sailing on calm waters under a blue sky with scattered clouds, preparing for its christening.

Christening is a maritime tradition that brings good luck to the ship, its crew, and all guests who sail the seas aboard the vessel.

Cruise fans can tune into the Disney Parks Blog at 8 p.m. ET on November 19 to watch the live event, which will include “one-of-a-kind moments” and special appearances, as well as the “first official look at the ship.”

The Disney Treasure arrived at its home at Port Canaveral earlier today, though it will have another stop in New York for its christening before its maiden voyage on December 21.

The Treasure left the Meyer Werft shipyard in September, and completed trials in the North Sea. Disney took ownership of the ship officially at a delivery ceremony in the Netherlands. The ship left for Port Canaveral on October 29.

This will be Disney Cruise Line’s second Wish-class ship, which will have the same layout as the Disney Wish. Seven more ships of different classes are currently in development for the fleet. Aboard the Treasure will be brand-new offerings, including the Haunted Mansion Parlor, the “Tale of Moana” stage show, the Plaza de Coco restaurant, and an “Aladdin”-inspired Grand Hall.
