Disneyland Resort has released their full seasonal celebration and special event calendar for 2025, including the start date for the resort’s 70th anniversary celebration.

70th Anniversary Celebration
The 70th anniversary celebrations kick off on May 16, 2025, and are set to run through summer 2026. Special entertainment and more will take place across the resort. The theme is “Celebrate Happy” and a new theme song of the same name will play. Special merchandise will be available.
At Disneyland park, the Paint the Night nighttime parade will return. Walt Disney – A Magical Life will debut at the Main Street Opera House Theater featuring an animatronic of Walt Disney. Mickey & friends will have special celebratory costumes and will also star in a new cavalcade — Mickey and Friends Celebrate Happy! The Wondrous Journeys fireworks spectacular will also return.
At Disney California Adventure, the new World of Color Happiness will debut. The Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration parade will return.
Walt Disney — A Magical Life
“Walt Disney – A Magical Life” will debut at the Main Street Opera House at Disneyland park on May 16, 2025. The attraction will feature a cinematic presentation of Walt Disney’s journey, culminating in a visit with Walt in his office where guests will see the first ever audio-animatronic figure of Walt Disney.
At first, Walt Disney — A Magical Life will replace “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln,” but after it’s initial run, both shows will be available. Dates for the return of “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” have not been given.
Red Car Trolley Closing Date
The last date for guests to ride the Red Car Trolley at Disney California Adventure will be February 8, 2025. It’s closing to prepare for the expansion of Avengers Campus.
Downtown Disney District Transformation Continues
As part of the ongoing transformation of the west side of Downtown Disney District, the Avengers Reserve retail store and The D-Lander Shop just opened. The Disney Wonderful World of Sweets shop and Parkside Market dining hall are scheduled to open in early 2025.
Lunar New Year
Lunar New Year festivities will take place at Disney California Adventure from January 17 through February 16 for the Year of the Snake. Mickey and Minnie will debut new costumes alongside returning entertainment like “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession.”
Anaheim Ducks Day
Anaheim Ducks Day returns to Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney District on January 24. The theme park will host a cavalcade, appearances from athletes, and more. Downtown Disney District will be home to a fan zone.

Celebrate Gospel
Celebrate Gospel, a concert honoring Black History Month, will return to Disneyland park on February 8 and 15.
Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival
The Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival will run from February 28 through April 21. Two new booths will be part of the marketplace lineup offering special food and beverages. Soarin’ Over California is also confirmed to return.

Season of the Force
Season of the Force returns from March 28 through May 11 to celebrate Star Wars. Disney confirmed that the Fire of the Rising Moons nighttime spectacular will feature new projection effects.

Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Party
The Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Party takes place for one day at Disney California Adventure and two days at Downtown Disney District. The specific dates were not announced, just “summer” as a timeframe.
Halloween Time
Halloween Time takes over Disneyland Resort from August 22 through October 31 in 2025 (though Oogie Boogie Bash will start sooner).
Plaza de la Familia
Plaza de la Familia, a celebration of Día de Los Muertos, takes place at Disney California Adventure from August 22 through November 2. In 2024, a new show (The Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate the Musical World of Coco) was added to the celebration, though Disney has not confirmed if it will return for 2025.
Holidays at Disneyland Resort
The Holiday season at Disneyland Resort will kick off on November 14, 2025, and run through January 7, 2026. Festival of Holidays will return to Disney California Adventure as part of the celebrations.
Disneyland After Dark Events
2025 will host four Disneyland After Dark events.
Sweetheart’s Nite will take place in January and February.
A brand new event, 90s Nite, will take place in March.
Star Wars Nite returns for April and May.
Pride Nite will take place on two nights in June.
Oogie Boogie Bash
Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party returns for a record-breaking 31 nights at Disney California Adventure, starting on August 17. Check out all the event dates for more information.
