The facade has been torn from the former “Jaws” bathroom building at Universal Studios Florida, near The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley.

“Jaws” Bathroom Construction

A vibrant construction site behind blue wooden barriers hints at a new facade, surrounded by lush plants and street lamps. A group of people strolls nearby, with a towering slide reminiscent of Universal Studios Florida in the background under a clear blue sky.

Construction began in February, with the bathrooms blocked off by construction walls. Most of the building’s siding was quickly removed. Now, window frames, gutters, and fascia are gone.

A fenced-off construction site with a building under repair and its facade stripped bare; a yellow spiral structure in the background evokes thoughts of Universal Studios Florida. To the right, a tall column stands watch, while the fence's small gate is secured with a padlock.

Since our last update, the black window frames were removed from the front of the building, revealing plywood around the windows. There are two windows, one on either side of the doorway.

An old wooden building with a weathered roof and cupola stands behind a blue construction fence, reminiscent of Jaws, wrapped in the promise of renovations. A sign suggests transformation more radical than any Lamarckian leap, yet as thrilling as Universal Studios Florida itself.

The gutters and fascia were removed from the front edge of the roof. A piece of the building’s exterior brown paneling remains at the corner, stuck to some plywood. Tar paper is peeling away.

Above the other window are some white markings. The gray-white walls visible here are exposed concrete.

A building under construction is behind a teal fence, its wooden shingle roof partially visible and a lamppost to the right, reminiscent of a classic scene from Jaws at Universal Studios Florida.

Above the entryway is a metal strip. This is where the “Village Circle Hall” sign sat.

More concrete and peeling paper are visible on the back of the building. There are small metal supports hanging where the gutters used to be.

The building is one of the last remaining elements of the old Amity Island area, which housed the “Jaws” ride. Amity Island closed in 2012, and Diagon Alley opened in its place two years later. The bathroom building was once white but was painted dark brown. Still, it retained its original shape and “Village Circle Hall” sign.

Universal has made no announcements about the nature of the construction.

While this bathroom is closed, the nearest restrooms are inside Diagon Alley or next to Men in Black: Alien Attack.
