Several new Disney Trading Pins based on scenes and characters from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction are now available at Disney Springs. These pins are all open edition.
Always Bet On Redd Pin – $14.99
A framed portrait of Captain Redd in her typical garb and large-plumed hat atop her eponymous hair is featured on this pin. The phrase “Always Bet On Redd” is on a scroll along the bottom of the glittery yellow frame.
Helmsman Pin – $12.99
Although guests usually see this pirate gripping the helm tightly from the side, this pin features a straight-on look at the Helmsman as he grapples to steer what’s left of a storm-ravaged ship through the waves. Here, the waves appear to overtake the watercraft and are flowing over the frame of the pin.
All That Glitters Be Not Gold Pin – $22.99
This pin features the pirate skeleton seen in Dead Man’s Cove at the start of the original attraction at Disneyland Park, surrounded by mountains of treasure and plundered goods. The pin unfolds into three hinged pieces, each piece a part of a warning that “all that glitters be not gold.”
Shiver Me Feathers Peg-Leg Pete Pin – $12.99
Peg-Leg Pete’s portrait is encircled by a frame fashioned out of rope and enclosed at the bottom with a scroll featuring a play on “shiver me timbers.” The Barker Bird is accompanied by one of the blue crabs found on the beach at the start of the ride in Magic Kingdom, a wooden oar, and a tropical red flower against a backdrop of the sky, sea, and palm trees.
Peg-Leg Pete will make a return with the opening of the upcoming pirate lounge, taking over the footprint of what was formerly The Pirates League transformation experience. The lounge is scheduled to open later this year.
Friends, Swing & Good Times Pin – $12.99
Guests will remember this pirate wallowing in the mud with the pigs while chaos ensues amidst the town being ransacked by the rest of the pirates. His portrait is framed by ornate gold filigree and decorated at the bottom with a scroll bearing the phrase “Friends, Swine & Good Times.”
No Sudden Moves Pin – $14.99
This pin illustrates the board positions of a chess game poised to continue on forever, as strategically designed by Imagineer Marc Davis. The pirates have been playing this game for so long, that they have presumably turned into skeletons, and even their clothes are in tatters.
Their portrait features a side view of their positions, as guests usually view their game from above, and is surrounded by an ornate gold frame and the phrase “no sudden moves.”
We found these open edition pins at Disney’s Pin Traders in the Marketplace at Disney Springs.
This year, Walt Disney World is celebrating 25 years of pin trading. In addition to limited edition pins marking the milestone, new pin trading accessories are also available.
