The opposite side of the mug has the TTA logo with the full name, “Tomorrowland Transit Authority,” across the top. Below the logo is “PeopleMover” and “Tomorrowland.”

In a store aisle, a person displays the empty interior of a blue ceramic mug, reminiscent of the PeopleMover Mug from Tomorrowland Transit Authority. Various other mugs are arranged on shelves in the background.

The inside is plain pale blue.

At Walt Disney World, we found the mug in The Emporium at Magic Kingdom. At Disneyland Resort, it was found in World of Disney at Downtown Disney District.

Disneyland PeopleMover

The WEDWay PeopleMover, also known as the Goodyear PeopleMover, opened at Disneyland on July 2, 1967. It utilized the system originally designed for the Ford Magic Skyway, one of the attractions Walt Disney designed for the 1964-65 World’s Fair.

It was closed in 1995 to make way for Rocket Rods. The mug is also specifically for the Magic Kingdom version, as the Disneyland attraction never used the Tomorrowland Transit Authority name. That name was introduced at Magic Kingdom as part of the 1994 reimagining of Tomorrowland.

The PeopleMover tracks remain at Disneyland, and rumors still surface of a resurrection, though nothing official has been indicated by Disney.

The PeopleMover opened at Magic Kingdom on July 1, 1975 as the Wedway PeopleMover. Unlike its predecessor at Disneyland, it did not use the Goodyear technology and therefore did not have the Goodyear branding. It also uses a flat track with no elevation changes.

The TTA PeopleMover underwent a long refurbishment that suffered multiple delays before ultimately reopening in April 2021. In July 2022, a new narration debuted with a new host, ORAC-5. ORAC-1 was the narrator before the ’94 Tomorrowland changes.
