The metal pylons holding up the dock utilized during KiteTails have been removed from Discovery River. The launch dock itself was previously removed from the space in January, which occurred more than two years after the show had ended.

Shuttered in 2022, KiteTails featured two versions of the lagoon show, inspired by “The Lion King” and “The Jungle Book”. The giant character kites were launched from this dock in the water in front of Anandapur Ice Cream Truck, and would “crash land” in the unused stands. One such crash landing resulted in the shredding of the King Louie kite.

The amphitheater seating remains unchanged, despite the absence of shows or attractions. Rivers of Light also utilized the amphitheater seating and was permanently closed in 2020, likely a residual effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.
