Permit Reveals Work Planned for Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World filed a Notice of Commencement for construction work on Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom.

The permit is for re-roofing and contracts roofing company Tecta America Southeast. It was approved on April 1 and expires in one year on March 27, 2026, but work would likely begin sooner rather than later.

The Magic Kingdom icon received a makeover in 2020 ahead of the park’s 50th anniversary. The “EARidescent” color scheme remained after the celebration. The castle was previously more gray, with dark teal blue roofing. For the update, the top half of the castle became pale pink, and the roofing was painted a more royal blue. It also got more gold highlights.
