Most Anticipated Disney Films Coming in 2026

Walt Disney Studios has several production studios under its umbrella. Walt Disney Animation, Marvel Studios, Pixar, Lucasfilm, 20th Century, and Searchlight all have exciting films coming in 2026, with a total of 13 that Disney can claim. Let’s take a look at a few of the most anticipated Disney films of 2026.

2026 Disney Films

Hoppers – March 6

Two animated scientists stand with a fluffy, surprised-looking orange animal on a table in a lab setting.

In the Disney/Pixar flick Hoppers, scientists have created technology that allows human consciousness to “hop” into lifelike robotic animals, so they can communicate better. Animal lover Mabel (voiced by Piper Curda) hops into a robot beaver and will “uncover mysteries within the animal world that are beyond anything she could have imagined.”

Hoppers hits theaters on March 6, 2026. Watch the trailer below:

The Mandalorian and Grogu – May 22

Grogu and the Mandalorian hide behind a sand dune on a beach, with the ocean visible in the background.

The Mandalorian Disney+ series ran for three seasons from 2019 to 2023. A fourth season was in development but it’s not clear if that is still planned or if the film is replacing it.

The film stars Pedro Pascal returning as Din Djarin a.k.a. The Mandalorian alongside Grogu a.k.a. “Baby Yoda.” The cast also includes Sigourney Weaver as Ward, Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt, and Jonny Coyne reprising his role from the Disney+ series as an Imperial Warlord. Zeb Orrelios, voiced by Steve Blum, from Star Wars Rebels appears after a cameo in The Mandalorian season 3.

The film will be the first Star Wars movie in theaters since The Rise of Skywalker was released in 2019. It will be in theaters on May 22, 2026. Watch the trailer below.

Toy Story 5 – June 19

The film will see the toys facing the introduction of the high-tech Lilypad smart tablet, making their “jobs exponentially harder when they have to go head to head with the all-new threat to playtime.”

It’s produced by Lindsey Collins. The cast includes Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Tony Hale, Blake Clark, and John Ratzenberger reprising their roles as Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Forky, Slinky, and Hamm, respectively. Joining the cast are Greta Lee as Lilypad, Conan O’Brien as Smarty Pants, Melissa Villaseñor as Karen Beverly, Ernie Hudson as Combat Carl (replacing the late Carl Weathers), and Anna Faris in an undisclosed role. Toy Story 5 will be in theaters on June 19, 2026. Watch the teaser trailer below.

Moana (Live Action) – July 10

The film stars Catherine Lagaʻaia as Moana, while Dwayne Johnson will reprise his role as the demigod Maui. A slate of Samoan and New Zealand actors round out the cast.

It’s directed by Thomas Kail, an Emmy and Tony Award winner for directing both the stage and filmed productions of Hamilton. The live-action Moana movie is scheduled to be released on July 10, 2026. See the teaser trailer below:

Hexed – November 25

The feature is directed by Josie Trinidad and Jason Hand, with Roy Conli and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster-Jones producing.

There is not currently a trailer, but the film is set to release on November 25, 2026.

Avengers: Doomsday – December 18

Text reading "Marvel Studios Avengers: Doomsday" with the phrase "Now in Production" below, set against a dark green background.

Avengers: Doomsday is the fifth Avengers film. It’s directed by the Russo Brothers and will be in theaters on December 18, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars will follow on December 17, 2027.

During a viral livestream of chairs, Marvel revealed the cast list will include Chris Hemsworth (Thor), the members of the Fantastic Four, Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Rebecca Romijn (Raven Darkhölme / Mystique, Kelsey Grammer (Hank McCoy / Beast), Ian McKellen (Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto), and many more. While not much is known about the plot, Tom Hiddleston has said that “the center of the story is absolutely brilliant, and was so surprising.”

Currently, two teaser trailers have been released for the film:

We already knew Chris Evans was returning to the MCU but it had not been confirmed that he would play Steve. Given the franchise’s dip into alternate universes — and that Robert Downey, Jr. is returning to play Doctor Doom, not Tony Stark — it was possible Evans would play a different character.

second teaser trailer that featured Chris Hemsworth as Thor was released a week later:
