The Year of the Horse will mark the milestone tenth anniversary of Shanghai Disney Resort. As the resort draws nearer to its year-long “10th Birthday” celebration, which will officially launch in March, the resort is gearing up for the celebration’s grand debut.
Lunar New Year Celebration

Shanghai Disney Resort ushered in the Year of the Horse with a traditional lion eye-dotting ceremony this morning at Shanghai Disneyland. Marking the first day of the Year of the Horse, this ceremony featured an appearance from Bullseye alongside Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse dressed in their festive outfits.

Andrew Bolstein, President and General Manager of Shanghai Disney Resort was joined by Mickey Mouse to dot the eyes of two ceremonial lions, spreading good luck, cheer and unforgettable Disney magic to guests from near and far.


At Shanghai Disney Resort, the festivities are now in full swing through March 3, 2026.

A highlight of the Spring Festival celebrations returns each evening through the Lantern Festival on March 3. The nighttime spectacular, Spring Festival Celebration: “Our Families,” illuminates Enchanted Storybook Castle with the Chinese character for “horse,” projections, and music.


After appearing on cruise ships, at both domestic parks, Paris and Tokyo, the BDX droids are set to make an appearance at Shanghai Disneyland for a limited time.

In the world’s first and only Zootopia, decorations featuring the new Zootopia mayor Brian Winddancer and the Zebros and playful window stickers create festive experiences.

The popular Gardens of the Twelve Friends has once again been transformed into a festive New Year Wishing Garden, where guests share their best wishes for the coming year.
