The BDX droids have touched down in Batuu East, and are now roaming Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for a limited time. WDWNT was there to capture their first day of appearances.
BDX Droids Now Roaming Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Revealed earlier today and confirmed by Cast Members, the droids can be found roaming Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge from Tuesdays through Saturdays, now through August 30, 2025. Their set times are as follows:
- 10:30 a.m.
- 11:30 a.m.
- 12:30 p.m.
- 3 p.m.
- 4 p.m.
- 5 p.m.
- 6 p.m.

The droids are named Red, Grek, Oskar, and Besh, inspired by their main color schemes. It appears that only three BDX droids come out at a time, as we only got to see Red, Grek, and Oskar at the 12:30 p.m. appearance.
Their morning appearances are at the droid garage near Droid Depot. Weather permitting, their afternoon appearances will be closer to the Millennium Falcon — at least for Wednesday, July 16.
They originally debuted at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland in October 2023 as part of a playtest with the technology. Later, the droids made limited-time daily appearances there for Season of the Force in 2024.

Earlier this year, Disney announced that the droids would be visiting various locations this year, and have made their way aboard the Disney Wish, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and now Walt Disney World.

Though the droids were updated for Florida with heat-resistant materials, they are not waterproof! The appearance we saw was rained out, resulting in the droids being covered in plastic bags before getting carried backstage (see below).

The BDX droids will be making their big-screen debut in “The Mandalorian & Grogu” feature film, set to release on May 22, 2026.
Disney received the 2025 Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement – Technical Innovation for their work with the droids. In addition, Disney Research is training them for autonomous human interaction.
