Construction Walls Removed From Cinderella Castle as Repainting Project Nears End

The repainting of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom is not quite complete, but all signs of pink are gone and construction walls have come down from behind the castle.

The construction walls surrounded a tall lift that crew members used to paint the tallest tower, where the last pink remained. With that part of the project finished, the lift and walls were removed, opening up the space once more.

Crews work on repainting Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom

On Wednesday morning, April 15, crew members in a few different lifts were working on some of the blue roofs near the front of Cinderella Castle. The change in blue shades is subtle but the new color appears to be brighter.

Some crew members were working on the front of an eastern tower. Others were at the back of the central clock tower. And two more were painting a tower on the west side.

The castle’s moat is still a little worse for wear. Scaffolding and green scrim went up around broken rockwork on both sides of the moat last week. However, that was overshadowed by lime green water from spilled tracer dye.

There’s some green staining at the bottom of the moat near Liberty Square, but the spill was mostly cleaned up. The moat will be further cleaned and refurbished before it is refilled with water.
