Stripes that were added to The Magic of Disney Animation facade at Disney’s Hollywood Studios have been removed just a few days later.
The Magic of Disney Animation Painting

Two dark red stripes were added to the facade earlier this month. They were on the right, next to the sorcerer hat and columns. As of Friday, April 17, the stripes are gone.

Above is a photo from April 14, when the sorcerer hat was installed alongside a photo from April 17, showcasing the lack of stripes. The stripes are based on the real Roy E. Disney Animation Building and featured in concept art for the courtyard.
We don’t know why the stripes were removed so quickly after the painting. It may be they didn’t have the right positioning or were the wrong shades.

Above are both concept pieces for Animation Courtyard, which is being transformed into the Walt Disney Studios Courtyard. Below is what the real Roy E. Disney Animation Building looks like.
The stripes are inspired by a section of the building behind the entrance. The existing Disney’s Hollywood Studios building isn’t the exact same shape as the Burbank building, so won’t have the exact same design, but is utilizing the beige/red/green color scheme.
The Magic of Disney Animation is a new version of an opening-day Disney’s Hollywood Studios attraction that was replaced by Star Wars: Launch Bay. The Star Wars attraction closed last year for the return of The Magic of Disney Animation.
The Walt Disney Studios Courtyard will have more green space and pavement featuring character autographs and handprints. Inside The Magic of Disney Animation, guests will meet characters, learn to draw with Olaf (instead of live artists), and play on an Alice in Wonderland playground.
Next door will be the new Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!, set to open with the courtyard on May 26. Disney has not announced an opening date for The Magic of Disney Animation but it is scheduled to open this summer.
