We say goodbye to MuppetVision’s purple gutter as the last colorful piece of the theater’s former exterior has been removed for drywall installation as part of its Monstropolis transformation.
Drywall Installed on Former MuppetVision 3D Theater

The former site of Muppets Courtyard is a sea of scaffolding as construction work continues to reimagine the land into Monstropolis from Monsters, Inc.

While we didn’t see much difference over at Gonzo’s Royal Flush since our last update, it’s the MuppetVision 3D theater that’s had the most change.

Gray sheets of drywall were installed on the front of the theater when we visited on May 13 (pictured above), filling in the marquee space.

The entire length of the clock tower is also almost completely covered in drywall and plastic tarps, with some portions of brickwork still peeking through.

Today, May 14, a brown finish covered much of the gray. More scrim was blocking the view, but we saw the brown paint-like finish around the clock and on the side facing Grand Avenue.

One week after we spotted a piece of the theater’s purple gutter lying on a construction platform, it’s now gone forever (RIP).

Plastic covers the courtyard buildings, which have been completely stripped to studs in preparation for new Monstropolis-themed facades.

A large boom lift sits in the foreground by the former PizzeRizzo building.

Speaking of PizzeRizzo, its transformation into a Monstropolis restaurant (although we don’t yet know what) is progressing quickly. Arches were added to the building’s facade last month, and a lot more scaffolding and platforms have appeared since their installation. The PizzeRizzo billboard was removed in late 2025. Concept art does not indicate what the building’s new theme will be.

Two theming permits were recently filed to transform Mama Melrose’s into Harryhausen’s and more, and show building construction continues on the land’s door vault coaster. Check out our Monstropolis construction page to see the latest updates.
