Lakeshore Lodge Construction Update

Construction continues on Disney Lakeshore Lodge, the upcoming Disney Vacation Club resort being built along Bay Lake near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

In our last update, the waterfront A-frame cabins appeared to have completed the bulk of their roof work, while scaffolding, lifts, and exterior installation continued across several sections of the main lodge building.

We spotted some crews in the middle of interior work inside one of the unfinished A-frame cabins. Future updates will likely cover glasswork and other interior detailing.

Steady progress is visible across the property, including more complete exterior wall sections on the water-facing side of the main building. Several portions of the façade now have a more uniform gray finish, while other areas still show exposed weatherproofing and unfinished paneling. You can see the difference in coloration across the gray surfaces in the photos above.

Along the waterfront, crews continue work on the balconies and guest room exterior walls. Many windows and balcony railings are already installed, with protective plastic and temporary construction coverings still visible across several rooms.

Some balcony areas are further along than others, with darker railing sections and painted exterior panels, giving a better sense of the resort’s final look.

The lobby area has also advanced since our last look. Additional framing for future windows is now visible on the ornate porte-cochère. The peaked roofline and broad window openings are slowly becoming more defined, despite the vast temporary screening spanning the lodge entrance.

Smaller overhanging structures are also continuing to take shape around the waterfront area, possibly part of the resort’s pool or along the backside of the resort.

Nearby, we spotted some crews working on the early stages of a concrete foundation for a waterside structure.

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge

First announced in 2018, the resort was originally going to be called Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, but plans were stalled during the COVID-19 pandemic. Years later, after the resort was thought to be canceled, Disney began filing permits.

The Disney Vacation Club resort was then officially announced in 2024 with a new name, Lakeshore Lodge. The resort will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.”

Just last month, we got our first look at new concept art for the resort and a narrower opening timeframe. Lakeshore Lodge is set to open sometime in the summer of 2027.
