After a week of problems, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is purposefully turning off their air conditioning on Wednesday morning for maintenance.

To complete maintenance, on Wednesday, June 24, air conditioning service will be temporarily unavailable starting at 7:00am and throughout the morning.
We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Reservations for Whispering Canyon Cafe are not available today. However, they are available for Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White, which is open from 4:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.
An air conditioning outage was first reported on Thursday, with guests sharing that the main building of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge became extremely warm in the guest rooms, the lobby, dining areas, and other indoor spaces.
Comments on social media throughout the weekend indicated that some guest rooms reached over 80°F. The outage came as Walt Disney World and the surrounding Central Florida area were experiencing heat index values around or above 100°F.
On Sunday, June 21, guest reports indicated the air conditioning had not been fully restored across the entire resort. Instead, the issue appeared to be in a partial recovery phase, with some rooms cooling back down while other areas remain uncomfortably warm. One Facebook user reported that they were told Disney has deployed temporary, smaller AC units to cool portions of the main building.
We saw portable A/C units and box fans in the resort’s lobby building on Tuesday, June 23.
Some guests have reported receiving refunds or comped nights. Other guests have been offered transfers to other Walt Disney World Resort hotels, including Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.
The exterior of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has been undergoing refurbishment for the past several months.
