The construction of the TRON Lightcycle / Run illuminated canopy has reached a milestone. Workers have placed an American flag at the canopy’s highest point. This “topping off” tradition signifies that vertical construction has reached its highest point.

Despite this milestone, the canopy structure is still months away from reaching completion. The attraction, originally slated to open for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, may not open until 2022 or later.

Located inside Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom, TRON Lightcycle / Run will allow guests to enter the world of TRON. Riders whiz beneath the massive, illuminated canopy before entering the show building.
