Magic Kingdom
- As we reported it would last month, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom is now closed for refurbishment.
- This morning while out in the park we noticed that the landing area for the Liberty Square Riverboat has adjusted its physical distancing markers to reduce the distance in between each one.
- The playground within the Dumbo the Flying Elephant queue in Magic Kingdom has reopened, the first Walt Disney World theme park playground to do so since the COVID-19 closure.
- After their debut a few days ago, the animatronics in the new “trapped safari” scene of Magic Kingdom’s Jungle Cruise are now moving.
EPCOT
- The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will be returning on July 15, 2021, and running through November 20.
- In addition to some new food booths opening in July, three more will open on October 1, the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World.
- Last week, construction was finally visible at the site of Journey of Water, the new Moana-inspired attraction and scaffolding has now been erected around the small structure.
- The jobs for EPCOT’s upcoming Space 220 posted by Patina Restaurant Group last month have reopened.
- We caught a showing of The American Adventure this afternoon at EPCOT to see how the experience was with guests now being seated in every row.
Disney Springs
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom isn’t the only place guests might spot fun wildlife, as an otter was seen today at Disney Springs.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
- We have been keeping a close eye just about every single day on the construction progress around Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and have a few new updates for you today.

- If you’re looking to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World in the parks, more park pass reservations are now available for regular ticket holders and resort guests.
Disneyland Resort
- Our Spider-Sense was tingling, so we had to go pick up some of the brand new WEB Tech Add-Ons to go along with our new Spider-Bot that debuted recently in Disney California Adventure along with Avengers Campus.
Tokyo Disney Resort
- Tokyo Disney Resort loves to release highly-detailed die-cast models of their ride vehicles and it’s only fitting that the next vehicle pay tribute to another of the greatest attractions, not only in Tokyo but in the world—20,000 Leagues Under the Sea!
New Merchandise
- The newest color collection from Walt Disney World is mint and includes Spirit Jersey and Loungefly products, and of course, a Minnie Mouse ear headband.
- Today while browsing MouseGear at EPCOT, we found some new nuiMOs styles from the Cruella Collection, as well as the Outdoor Collection.
Entertainment and Media
- The incredibly popular live-action Cruella that was just released a few weeks ago has already set a September date for its release to DVD.
- Harrison Ford is back as Indiana Jones with whip, hat and COVID face mask!
Disney+
- To celebrate the July 30 release of the Disney feature film “Jungle Cruise,” inspired by the Disney Parks attraction which debuted in 1955 with the opening of Disneyland park, Disney+ will premiere all episodes of its newest original series “Behind the Attraction” on Friday, July 16.
- During Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference today, they announced SharePlay, a new feature that will allow users to share streaming content, including Disney+, on FaceTime calls.
