Good morning and welcome to another gorgeous day at Walt Disney World! Today we’ll be venturing through Magic Kingdom and learning about all of the latest and greatest things happening throughout this wonderful park. Let’s jump in!
This morning we found ourselves at the Transportation and Ticket Center, where we quickly noticed that every single one of the ticket booths had been painted dark blue overnight. We saw painting start at these booths a while back, but up until now it’s been a seemingly slow process. This lovely blue matches the new color scheme of the area quite well.
Minnie and Pluto say “hiya!” to guests from Main Street Train Station!
When we entered the hub, we were shocked to find that every single one of the iconic bronze character statues had been removed from the area. This comes only a day after we saw the removal of the Br’er Rabbit statue. At this time we aren’t sure if these statues will ever return. They are likely to be replaced with the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection of gold statues in celebration of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. We are sad to say goodbye to Dumbo, Chip & Dale, Br’er Rabbit, and the rest of these beloved characters.
If you want to add a little bit of spookiness to your style, stop by Uptown Jewelers, where you’ll find this brand new Nightmare Before Christmas Loungefly Backpack! This adorable bag features some of the most beloved characters from the film, such as Jack Skellington, Sally, Zero, Oogie Boogie, Lock, Shock, and Barrel! The outer layer of the bag is a holographic material, and the inside displays a simple but adorable pattern featuring the pumpkin king himself. This bag has one more standout feature, which is the addition of a second pocket that can be used to hold Minnie Ears! We saw this innovative addition on another loungefly bag not too long ago. You can currently grab this scarily cute bag for $75.00.
Over at Be Our Guest Restaurant, we found a paint crew decorating the bottom of the rocky area with a splattered pattern.
We ventured over to the Frontierland Railroad Station, which had been completely repainted! This building now bears a striking red color. Paired with the entrance of Splash Mountain, this updated facade looks great!
Kingdom Hearts fans rejoice! Over at Frontier Trading Post you can now find this magnet showcasing many characters from the video game series. While this magnet has been available at MaDe kiosks for a while, guests can now see the physical version in person. It is currently available for $14.99.
While in Frontierland, we checked up on the Boardwalk construction. It seems that the only area to still have construction walls is the entrance of Country Bear Jamboree! We hope to see this area fully reopen soon.
It’s always “a world of laughter” over at it’s a small world, and today we found that even more bright colors have been added to the beautiful attraction!
Yesterday we started to see Lightning Lane signage pop up around Magic Kingdom. Although this new system will be taking over FastPass+ throughout the parks, you can still currently see the remaining FastPass system signage at attractions like Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and more.
“There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow shining at the end of every day!”
We jumped onboard a Monorail and headed towards Disney’s Contemporary Resort! This resort is currently the base for tons of construction. Take a look at just a few of the many areas currently being worked on.
We decided to surf on over to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort as well. Here we found that The Monorail Station seems to be racing towards completion! We can’t wait to see this beautiful new station filled with guests excited to take a trip around just a small part of Walt Disney World.
That leads us to the end of our day. How do you feel about some of the most iconic characters being removed from Main Street, U.S.A.? Let us know in the comments below. Have a great day and we’ll “see ya real soon!”
I actually stopped to take pictures of all the bronze figures for the first time on our last trip in December. Glad I did now. If they ever come back, I’m sad that Brer Rabbit probably will not return with them.
