More Roofing Added to Possible New Cast Building at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

A new building is under construction at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, next to Pioneer Hall at the former site of Tri-Circle-D Ranch. It’s coming together quickly and more roofing has been installed since our last update.

The building is likely for Cast Members.

More paneling has been installed over the roof, including on the small gable that was previously just a wooden frame.

The white barriers have also been removed from the sidewalk.

The building is behind a long fence covered in scrim with a green foliage print.

There is a lot of empty space next to the building that may also be developed.

There is no theming to the building yet. The bottom portion is composed of white concrete bricks.

This gable is most likely over a door.

A thin metal chimney sticks out of the roof near the gable.

Construction recently wrapped up on the other side of Pioneer Hall, where Trail’s End Restaurant and Crockett’s Tavern received new looks and updated menus. Check out our photo and video tour of the newly-refreshed restaurants here.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is a camping ground at Walt Disney World Resort that officially opened in November 1971, just over a month after Magic Kingdom.

Fort Wilderness is located near Wilderness Lodge, right next to Bay Lake. Both were once convenient resorts for guests hoping to visit Disney’s River Country, but the water park closed over 20 years ago and never reopened.

Tri-Circle-D Ranch at Disney’s Fort Wilderness is where the horses of Walt Disney World are cared for. Guests can enjoy pony rides (available on a walk-in basis) and trail rides (which are bookable online). A newborn Shetland pony at Tri-Circle-D Ranch was recently named.

Fort Wilderness is home to the famous “Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue” in Pioneer Hall. The quintessential dining experience has been a fixture of Walt Disney World since 1974. Live performers sing and dance in a Wild West stage show. Between skits, guests can enjoy fried chicken, smoked BBQ pork ribs, tossed green salad, baked beans, fresh-baked cornbread, and strawberry shortcake. Watch our video of the full show below.
