With the purchase of the Comfort Inn Orlando – Lake Buena Vista and Royal Parc Suites in Kissimmee last year for $33 million, hospitality company AD1 Global will be renovating both properties for a combined $13 million to prepare them to become IHG brand hotels.
As reported by Orlando Sentinel’s GrowthSpotter, the Comfort Inn will be converted to a Crown Plaza and will be the first to utilize a new “work-life” prototype room. It will also receive a new splash pad area and other upgrades.
“It’s a little different design — very modern, spacious and light,” said AD1 Global CFO Alex Fridzon. “It works very well for business and leisure, and it’s very tech-friendly.”
Work has already begun on the Royal Part, as the exterior has seen renovations occur to to make it brand compatible as an IHG Staybridge Suites, but each of the 224 rooms will be gutted and completely redone floor by floor.
Both hotels will be available soon for booking through IHG, but a 20% increase in average daily room rates is expected as a result of the renovations.
