July is going to be a busy month for Disney fans. The live-action “The Lion King” film releases in theaters on July 19, and two days before Disneyland guests will say goodbye to Mickey’s Soundsational Parade. If you plan on visiting the Resort before then, you don’t want to miss everything else happening right now. Here’s the latest from Disneyland Park, including summer crowds, “The Lion King” merchandise, and more.

Disneyland Park

Main Street, U.S.A.

Most of June was fairly laid back throughout Disneyland Park, but we’re definitely seeing an increase in summer crowds this month.

Over in Emporium, there’s quite a bit of new merchandise available. Like this Castle Photo ID Lanyard, available for $16.99.

And a new “The Lion King” pin is available, featuring Simba and Nala. You can feel the love of this pin for $9.99.

Two new baseball hats have been released, just in time for the summer sun beating down at Disneyland. The first hat features Buzz Lightyear with his iconic phrase “To Infinity  Beyond!” This one will cost you $21.99.

And the second hat features our favorite rooster, HeiHei. This hat is available for purchase at $27.99

A new version of the popular yellow, rainbow letter Disneyland t-shirt is now available in green! You can add this shirt to your collection for $24.99.

On our way out of Emporium, we spotted some paint touch-ups happening outside of Carnation Cafe. We appreciate that Disney has been paying attention to these details lately throughout the entire Resort.

Across the street at China Closet, a new Little Mermaid 30th Anniversary ceramic mug is for sale. This cute mug features a mermaid tail for a handle, with a beautiful sketch of Ariel inside the bottom of the cup. This mug is available for $22.99.

Also on the shelf at China Closet are the Disneyland Starbucks travel mugs. Up until recently, these were only available in the Starbucks store on Main Street, but now they’ve made an appearance at World of Disney.

Adventureland

If you’re excited about the live-action “The Lion King” film, there is plenty of new merchandise available for you to show your support. We came across quite the display at Adventureland Bazaar.

Three new shirts are on sale for $34.99, with designs featuring Nala, baby Simba, and adult Simba with Timon and Pumbaa.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

The reservation system for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge came to an end on June 24. And to be honest, it still feels weird that we can just walk right into the land. But since that opening day, the land status has remained open, with entry through Critter Country being the most enjoyable.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

There are hardly any guests using this entrance today. But we did come across quite a crowd of guests visiting with Chewy near the Resistance Base.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Once we made our way to Black Spire Outpost, we did see the crowds start to pick up.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Lots of guests are visiting Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiques, despite many items being sold out.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

The kyber crystals are still available for purchase with a purchase of a Jedi Holocron, however, the crystals aren’t being advertised at all anymore.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run remains a popular attraction, with a consistently long wait time to ride the attraction.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Oga’s Cantina is still using the same-day reservation system. We spotted a line of guests waiting for their reservation outside the Cantina.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Storm Troopers continue to patrol Batuu, looking for troublemakers and members of the Resistance.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

If you’re someone who likes to bring a refillable water bottle to Disneyland, don’t forget to check out the water station on Batuu. This one is located near the Milk Stand.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Droid Depot has remained fairly empty, so you likely won’t find yourself waiting long to build your own droid.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Frontierland

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

We definitely notice a crowd of people in Frontierland as we made out way out of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. One of the reasons we prefer the entrance by Critter Country.

Fantasyland

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Sleeping Beauty Castle continues to shine post-makeover.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

If you’ve been struggling to find the highly-popular Little Mermaid Minnie Ears Headband throughout Disneyland, be sure to stop in Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. We spotted several available for sale.

v

Sadly, it looks like the days of a short line for Peter Pan’s Flight are over. Things appear to be back to normal, with the wait time averaging 40 minutes again.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Overall, Fantasyland is quite busy and overrun with large families.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Fortunately, Mad Tea Party hasn’t been hit with a long standby line.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

However, Matterhorn Bobsleds has remained very popular, with 40 minutes or more wait times.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

We did manage to spot some characters out with guests on our way to “it’s a small world.” The Evil Queen can be seen having to deal with some young princesses.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

While Peter Pan sits down for storytime.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

And speaking of “it’s a small world,” the line for this attraction was quite long today, making it a good time to use FastPass for this ride.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Mickey’s Toontown

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

If you’ve had your eye on a new calendar for next year, then you’re in luck! The new Disney Parks 2020 Calendar is here and we spotted it on sale at Gag Factory.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Oddly enough, it looks like the Disneyland Starbucks travel mugs are also on sale here too.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Before heading out of Toontown, we spotted this adorable guest interaction with Pluto.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Tomorrowland

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

If you find yourself needing water on a hot day, you can ask for a free water cup at almost any quick-service restaurant. They are usually served in a paper Disney Parks cup. However, Galactic Grill has changed their policy and is now serving free water in smaller plastic cups.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Hyperspace Mountain is still available to ride in Tomorrowland with no word from Disney on when the overlay is expected to leave.

Over in Star Trader, we came across some new Star Wars-themed apparel. The first being this Boba Fett Bounty Hunter T-shirt.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

The second shirt features artwork from “Star Wars: A New Hope.” Both shirts are available for $34.99.

Disneyland Park Photo Report Summer Crowds July 9 2019

On our way out of Disneyland Park, we have one more battle through the summer crowds in Tomorrowland. But overall, the Park wasn’t bad today.

That’s all we have from this trip to Disneyland Park. Be sure to check us out on Twitter and Instagram for more updates from Disneyland Resort.

Thanks for the report.

Did the ‘Virtual Queue’ also end Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge? I thought I read that it had just started after the Reservation system ended on June 24th ….

I’m hoping the crowds will be back down lower again (but reasonable, to keep staff in place) when I go in October. And hoping Columbus Day isn’t a huge deal for locals getting the day off, since I’m there on the Sunday and Monday of that period. Can’t wait!
