While we were at EPCOT today, we tried the new Creme de Brie at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie in the France Pavilion.
Creme de Brie – $6.75
The new dish is advertised as “warm creamy brie in bread bowl” on the menu.
The bread bowl, which creates the perfect serving dish for this melted cheese, was by far the best part of the dish. The bread was flavorful and fresh, exactly what we’d expect from Les Halles.
The melted brie filling, however, was another story. The cheese was served to us at room temperature, which greatly took away from the experience. The brie flavor was strong, which we definitely enjoyed. The richness of this dish, however, makes the flavor profile a little overwhelming.
Texturally, this cheese is incredibly thick, creamy, and very dense. After just a few bites, we felt incredibly full and the feeling followed us throughout the entire day.
As a brie lover, I was really excited to try this dish, but I was filled with disappointment. Overall, the dish was just too rich and served at the wrong temperature to truly be enjoyed.
There are plenty of other things on the menu that are far more delicious than this, so I’d definitely pass on this if you’re looking for something to enjoy at Les Halles.
If you’re looking for something to snack on while in the France Pavilion, make sure you check out our review for the Fleur de Lys outdoor kitchen as part of the ongoing Flower & Garden Festival 2020, which runs through June 1st at EPCOT.
Ahh the French…what do they know about cheese or bread anyway?
Its a conspiracy with the Ducolax company
