Listen, I live for the parks. But, if I’m being honest… there are times when I just need a resort day. You know the type: you sleep in a bit, take a mid-afternoon dip in the pool, maybe even pay a spur-of-the-moment visit to your favorite restaurant to see if the universe will reward your random act of spontaneity by granting you a last-minute dining reservation. This little battery recharge can make or break an extended vacation full of nonstop get-up-and-go-go-go! There is something liberating about taking time to stand still in an environment packed with perpetual motion. And let’s face it, it is in those unforeseen moments of reprieve that you make memories that will last a lifetime. In my humble opinion, the Tropical Macaw from Kona Café at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort encapsulates this very notion. It is carefree, a little indulgent, and an unexpected hidden gem that can turn a seemingly ordinary day into an Adventureland of endless possibilities.

Is the first step to put the Midori in the glass to keep the green on the bottom?
