The Magic Kingdom officially is open to the public once again, and we are thrilled to be in the park covering every update we can find regarding all the new health and safety regulations.

While wait times for attractions at the Magic Kingdom have fluctuated quite a bit throughout the day, for the most part, they have remained fairly low.

Splash Mountain

Early in the morning, Splash Mountain was a short 5-minute wait. In the afternoon, the wait time grew to 40 minutes. Toward the end of the day, however, guests had to be evacuated off of the attraction, and it remained closed for the rest of the evening.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad remained constantly around a 10-minute wait.

Pirates of the Caribbean

Pirates of the Caribbean, a ride where the wait time can normally range from 5 to 45 minutes, reached a 30-minute wait time in the afternoon hours.

The Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion had around a 25-minute wait, which isn’t atypical of this ride on a normal day, especially considering the current queue modifications. The attraction also experienced some downtime in the afternoon.

Space Mountain

Although it’s difficult to tell in this photo, Space Mountain was only a 10-minute wait and retained low wait times throughout the day.

Peter Pan’s Flight

A 25-minute wait for Peter Pan’s Flight is significantly lower than the normally expected wait times (usually a 75-minute wait minimum).

“it’s a small world”

“it’s a small world” kept at around a 20-minute wait due to lowered capacity in ride vehicles.

Overall, wait times for some rides at the Magic Kingdom were significantly lower than usual, while some were relatively average. Certain rides like Splash Mountain fluctuated pretty dramatically throughout the day but still remained lower than usual. Will you be visiting the Magic Kingdom over the coming weeks to take advantage of the lighter crowds? Let us know in the comments.

  1. My Family and I will be at MK and EPCOT the week of 20 July. I hope wait times are like this that week, since the fast pass is gone. I can recall some brutal waits for some rides in the past, and that was in February. Throw in late July in Florida, and I don’t want to put up with 75 minutes for a ride.

  2. My wife won a McDonalds Star Wars Journey to Win Sweepstakes last Christmas. We have a 5 Day 4 Night trip for 4 people we are taking the first week in August.

Looking forward to the small crowds, but dreading the masks and heat. Were there places or rides where you could relax the masks?

  3. My family and I will be at the Magic Kingdom on the 28th of this month and we can hardly waIt! We are bringing both of our daughters’ long time boyfriends, who have never been to Disneyworld before, so we are incredibly excited and thrilled for all the magical memories we’ll be able to make with them. Shorter wait times is something that has us elated.
