We’re always on the lookout for new signage at Walt Disney World theme parks. On our recent visit to World ShowPlace in EPCOT, we noticed a new safety sign at the first queue we encountered.
You’ll find the walkway to World ShowPlace nestled in between Canada Pavilion and United Kingdom Pavilion. Currently, the location hosts several booths for the Taste of Epcot International Food and Wine Festival.
The sign warns us to keep our masks on unless we’re actively eating or drinking, not moving, and distanced from other parties. This includes inside areas such as lockers and restrooms, plus park entrances and exits. Disney has positioned these signs throughout the parks, though more heavily at entry points and gates. The signs appearing at the queue lines inside World ShowPlace may be in response to uncompliant guests requiring Cast Members having to address the issues in this space.
Other guests may have been using the area as an impromptu mask-free relaxation station. The new sign reminds visitors that World ShowPlace exists as a dining area for the festival, not a relaxation station. EPCOT’s relaxation stations can be found at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Norway Pavilion, Future World East between Mission Space and Test Track, and United Kingdom Pavilion. Only Akershus provides an indoor, climate-controlled mask-free zone.

Thanks for the information
Someone please tell Disney that this thing is about as deadly as the common flu. Why invest in new signs when it will all be over November 4th?
Doesn’t matter. All the signs and announcements in the world don’t make a difference if there is no enforcement. And while Disney has been posting more signs and updating the announcements, that appears to be in place of enforcement, not in addition to. It’s been getting more and more lax, to the point that this weekend we saw entire groups blatantly wearing no masks in full view of CMs, with nothing said or done.
