- Multiple announcements were made today regarding new and returning entertainment coming to Magic Kingdom:
- New Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade to Debut on February 11 at Magic Kingdom
- Festival of Fantasy Parade Returning to Magic Kingdom March 9
- ‘Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire’ Castle Stage Show Debuting February 25 at Magic Kingdom
- The Maleficent Dragon Float Will Return With the Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom
- Frontierland Hoedown Happening Returning to Magic Kingdom on February 11
- PHOTOS: First Look at Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade Coming to Magic Kingdom
- Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade to Feature New ‘Toy Story’ Character Costumes
- More canopy pieces have been added to TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom.
EPCOT
- The 2022 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival will kick off March 2 and run through July 4. Disney has announced some of the new and returning topiaries, as well as a new fragrant garden presented by Scentsy. Here is the full list of topiaries and Global Gardens coming to 2022 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.
- The Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration scavenger hunt will once again be available at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.
- The Xandarian Nova Corps starship is almost complete in the courtyard outside Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
- Guests aboard the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will use the Datapad (part of the Play Disney Parks app) for many things, including managing their itinerary. Guests scheduled to depart on select March dates can now view the itinerary, a map of the ship, and more.
- According to the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Datapad schedule, guests on a Halcyon voyage will be able to view “fireworks.”
- While Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is currently running test flights, guests with voyages in March are now getting access to their Datapad on the Play Disney Parks app. The Datapad has a schedule of your voyage’s events, including descriptions of each activity.
- In addition to the itinerary, future Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser guests can now view other tools in the Datapad, including a map of the ship.
Other Walt Disney World News
- In the latest of many aesthetic changes around Walt Disney World, the iconic purple roadway signs are getting a new look. The new color scheme debuted this morning as signs were replaced to include directions for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser guests.
- Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park will be closed tomorrow, January 28, through Sunday, January 30, due to projected cold temperatures.
Disneyland Resort
- Today we’re saying “Goodbye, Earl” as it’s the final day of operation for Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney District.
- Disneyland Resort has announced details about their Valentine’s Day food, merchandise, and more at Downtown Disney District and resort hotels.
- Disneyland Resort will be “moving forward on a vaccine mandate for Local 50 and other Union’s not currently under a mandate.”
Disneyland Paris
- The Quinjet has officially landed in Marvel Avengers Campus at Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris. Read the announcement by Scot Drake, Creative Executive of Marvel Global Portfolio.
New Merchandise
- Funko has announced their next Pops! With Purpose line, which will be a collection of Disney figures created in partnership with Make-A-Wish.
- We have our first look at a new Orange Bird Spirit Jersey that will be available at this year’s EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.
- Disney announced the five merchandise collections that will be available at the 2022 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.
- A new Lunar New Year Minnie ear headband is now available at Disney California Adventure.
- The newest Mickey and Minnie Mouse Limited Edition Doll Set has arrived at Disneyland Resort.
- Today we found the Walt Disney World version of the railroad dress at Elias & Co. at the Disneyland Resort.

I’d be sorry to see the purple and red signs go. I only began going to Disney World in my mid 40s in 2018 and every time since I felt like I finally made it when I see my first purple sign. Maybe it’s just me, but the new ones look a lot closer to the standard green signs. Even if they’re blue ish.
I am happy those ugly uniconic and eye sore are gone!!!! The ICONIC WDW Signs are the brown signs. Replaced by ugly purple!!! When the brown ones were replaced by the ugly unmagical corporate purple signs, THE MAGIC IS GONE!!! Mickey turned into a Corporate Greedy Rat!!!
