Walt Disney World

Magic Kingdom

• A Santa Claus meet and greet is now available during the day at Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom for the 2023 holiday season.
• The Main Street Cinema at Magic Kingdom has a fresh new carpet. 

EPCOT

• The completed World Celebration at EPCOT — including CommuniCore Hall and Dreamers Point — will officially open in December. As the project nears completion, construction walls have been shifted back a few feet, revealing new concrete and widening pathways.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

• Roof decking has been added atop the framework of a new covered seating area that’s currently under construction near the Harambe Market quick-service dining location at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. 

New Merchandise

• Guests can commemorate the new year with 2024 pins, a 2024 ear headband, or a 2024 ball cap, all now available at Walt Disney World Resort.

Other Walt Disney World News

• Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park will be closed for another two days this week due to low temperatures.
• The TCG Legends Expo is coming to Orlando, Florida next month with four Disney Lorcana artists and Disney animator Peter Raymundo.

Disneyland Resort

• The Incredicoaster in Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure is closed for what is expected to be a short refurbishment.
• The Celestial-sized Choco-Smash CANDY Bar has been replaced with a new Choco Smash Cake at Pym Test Kitchen in Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure.
• After a stage lighting lamppost in the town square of Disneyland Park fell over and injured three people, Disney has removed a similar light pole entirely and stripped lights from other posts.
• Building permits for Downtown Disney District construction have been filed by Disneyland with the city of Anaheim.
• The Astro Orbiter at Disneyland is closed for refurbishment until 2024, with construction walls up around the classic attraction. 
• Twice nightly through January 7, 2024, Disneyland celebrates the holiday season with “Wintertime Enchantment at Sleeping Beauty Castle.”
• Downtown Disney District is getting in the holiday spirit this year with nightly snowfall for the first time. But during the day, guests can also enjoy decorations like colorful Christmas trees throughout the District.

Entertainment and Media

• Michael Waldron will replace Jeff Loveness as the writer of Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.”
