Disney is reportedly canceling Disney Vacation Club members’ upcoming reservations for BoardWalk Villas as the ongoing refurbishment of the resort falls behind schedule.
A DVC member with a March reservation for a one-bedroom villa contacted WDWNT to tell us Disney offered to exchange their Villas reservation for an Inn room with a resort view and $100 per day folio credit, which they feel is an unfair deal.
Disney’s BoardWalk has been undergoing changes and refurbishments for the past few years. In early 2023, the lobby was remodeled. We stayed in a remodeled room this summer. Last month, the DVC showroom closed for ongoing construction work on the Villas.
On the actual boardwalk, the Cake Bake Shop is still under construction. It was originally supposed to open this year, but the opening timeframe was delayed to 2024. It’s the same story for the Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs kiosk.
