PHOTO REPORT: Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and EPCOT 2/24/2025 (Rainy Disney Day, Goofy and Stitch Merchandise, and More Topiaries)

Howdy! Today was a very wet and cold day at Disney World. I park hopped between Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and EPCOT. I found cute new Goofy and Stitch merchandise and later in the afternoon found more topiaries in place for the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival 2025.

Good Morning from Disney’s Animal Kingdom

A crowd of people in rain ponchos walks toward a large artificial tree with lush green foliage at the Animal Kingdom theme park. The sky is overcast, creating a moody backdrop for their journey into this enchanting world.

Good morning from a very dark and rainy Animal Kingdom. I have a love/hate relationship with consistent rainy days like this where the rain just doesn’t stop. Love it because it’s usually easier to navigate a less crowded park – hate it because who wants to spend a day in a cold rainy theme park?

Riverside Depot New Goofy Merchandise

Riverside Depot at Animal Kingdom showcases a vibrant Disney-themed apparel collection featuring Goofy, with colorful t-shirts and sweaters.

In Riverside Depot I found an entirely new Goofy collection. There is a white embroidered shirt with Goofy spelled backward available for $34.99. The green sweatpants are available for $49.99 and the matching sweater for $59.99. I like the design of the new collection. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Dinoland U.S.A Deconstruction

Four images capture areas of a theme park shrouded by green construction fences, with visitors strolling by under overcast skies. Dinosaur-themed decorations peek above the barriers, reminiscent of Animal Kingdom's adventurous spirit.

You can’t go to Animal Kingdom without checking out the deconstruction in Dinoland U.S.A. This morning I was relieved to see that the Cementosaurous in Dino-Rama is still standing although the TriceraTop Spin queue no longer stands.

Note: As of publishing, the remainder of TriceraTop Spin has been removed.

Mickey and Minnie Monday Meeting

Signs and images showcase a theme park's Adventurer's Outpost, echoing the spirit of Animal Kingdom. Two cartoon characters in safari gear stand proudly before a mural adorned with African and Asian continent names.

The Adventurer’s Outpost will be closing temporarily this week for maintenance so I had to stop by to say good morning to our favorite mice before they scurry off. I love Minnie’s safari outfit. It should also be mentioned that I did not wait at all to meet these two cuties. I would definitely recommend this spot once it reopens.

Bus Ride to Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Disney transportation sign for Wilderness Lodge and Contemporary Resort on the left, with empty bus seats offering a glimpse of the Magic Kingdom outside the window on the right.

I had a private bus ride to Disney’s Contemporary Resort from Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The park hopping busses don’t start running until 10 a.m. so I opted for this alternative since it was still so early in the morning.

There is a short walking path from Disney’s Contemporary to Magic Kingdom. Granted in the cold rain the walk may seem a bit longer.

Magic Kingdom Monday

Four enchanting photos capture the magic of a theme park: a majestic castle, bustling pathways filled with people, and charming surrounding buildings under a cloudy sky. It’s the quintessential Magic Kingdom experience, where fantasy and wonder come alive in every corner.

I love how glass the cement looks in the parks when it rains. Unfortunately, this is one of those days where the rain just doesn’t stop and stays at a minimum of a light mist. Relentless as the rain is and was Cinderella Castle stays stunning.

Train Ride

A vintage red steam locomotive with gold accents and red and white wheels sits at a platform under an overcast sky, evoking the nostalgic charm of Magic Kingdom.

I will not take a single train ride or riverboat ride for granted moving forward. I came to the realization today that as Big Thunder Mountain continues construction these POVs we have from the train and the riverboat may not last throughout its reconstruction.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m optimistically excited about the changes coming to Magic Kingdom, but change is always a bit jarring.

Swiss Family Treehouse Scrim

Collage of the Swiss Family Treehouse at Magic Kingdom with two views of the treehouse structure surrounded by lush greenery, and a sign stating "Swiss Family Treehouse Robinson" among palm trees.

The Crows Nest reopened in the Swiss Family Treehouse a few days ago, but the scrim and scaffolding still surround the treehouse. Be sure to stay tuned to our website for when this extended refurbishment finally concludes.

Christmas Shoppe Sign Still Missing

A two-story building with a stone facade and white trim, reminiscent of those in EPCOT, features window shutters and wreaths. People with umbrellas walk on the wet red pavement in front of it.

The sign at the center entrance of Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe has been missing for a few days now. There were permits filed for this location recently that would suggest this sign may be replaced soon.

The Little Golden Book – The Haunted Mansion

A person holds "The Haunted Mansion" Little Golden Book, showcasing colorful illustrations and text. The book cover, adorned with cartoon ghosts and a spooky mansion, evokes the enchanting allure of Magic Kingdom.

The Little Golden Book for The Haunted Mansion is now available for $5.99 in Momento Mori, the gift shop just outside The Haunted Mansion. The story is very cute and certainly a must-have for any Disney Parks kiddo.

Driver’s License Photos Unavailable at Tomorrowland Speedway

Photo collage showcasing a driver's license photo booth with price sign and interior view, plus a banner reading "Been there, done that. Got my driver's license." It's as thrilling as conquering EPCOT's iconic rides!.

Much like the DMV the Tomorrowland Speedway is having technical difficulties. The Driver’s License Photo booths were all off this morning. When I asked a Cast Member if they would be on later they informed me there was a minor power outage affecting the machines and the Cast breakroom.

Likely they will have the power back on before the end of the day, but I’ll keep you updated.

New Stitch Merchandise in Star Traders

Collage of Stitch-themed merchandise: Crocs, a small pouch, a blue backpack, and a yellow slap bracelet with Stitch illustrations in an enchanting display that feels straight out of Magic Kingdom.

In Star Traders I found a bunch of new Stitch merchandise. There were youth Crocs available for $54.99, a fanny pack for $34.99, a backpack for $54.99, and finally an orange slapband for $9.99. I love Stitch and I love that Disney has released the very functional ear headband bags featuring one of my favorite Disney Dogs.

Wet Dog Alert

A character in a blue furry costume with large ears stands on a wet surface outside a closed door at EPCOT. In the foreground, two people wearing rain ponchos are partially visible, adding to the whimsical scene.

On my way around Tomorrowland, I noticed a huge line waiting at the garages, but with the rain, I thought there was no way Stitch would be out. HE WAS. I don’t know if PhotoPass was having issues getting the lighting right or if their cameras were struggling in the rain, but Stitch just looked so bored and awkward waiting for them to be ready while a line of guests was waiting. Remember this is all in pretty hard rain. Hope those guests don’t mind a little wet dog.

Disney Duck Love

Three ducks swim in a pond surrounded by rocky terrain and green shrubs, reminiscent of the serene landscapes found in EPCOT's World Showcase.

The only guests who truly celebrate these rainy days are the Disney Ducks and Disney birds in general. These guys were napping when I walked by. How does one nap in such conditions? I could be in a warm hotel room looking out at the water, but in the water, not today.

Monorail Monday – Test Track Progress

A collage of four images captures a red and white monorail gliding on its track past a construction site with scaffolding and building materials, reminiscent of Magic Kingdom's enchanting landscape. Lush trees and greenery embrace the area.

Last we reported the awning was starting to be enclosed with plywood. I didn’t really notice from the monorail but when I got on the ground in EPCOT I saw that the enclosure has extended to the back sides of the awning. It even looks like the crew may have already started to place plywood on the bottom of the awning.

Good Afternoon from EPCOT

People stroll by the iconic geodesic sphere in EPCOT on a cloudy day, some clutching umbrellas and donning raincoats.

Although it still looks like it may be 8 a.m. it is noon, and the rain certainly hasn’t stopped yet. Good news for me, I heard there are more topiaries in place for the Flower and Garden Festival and nothing makes a topiary pop like a good rain.

More Flower and Garden Topiaries

A collage of garden displays featuring floral sculptures, lush greenery, and scenic landscapes reminiscent of EPCOT's vibrant outdoor park blooms with creativity.

Phineas and Ferb now have succulent flowers behind them. The ‘Wish’ topiary features Asha and her two sidekicks, Star and Valentino. Last year this topiary debuted at the front entrance now it is located just outside The Land. The Buzz Lightyear topiary has also made a return in front of Mission Space.

The Mexico pavilion has started to add flowers to their walk, and Germany has added some gnome head topiaries just outside the restrooms. I also noticed that the trees have either been trimmed back or slumped in the rain back towards the EPCOT marina.

Club Un-Cool

Discover a soda fountain inspired by EPCOT, featuring international Coca-Cola flavors like Sprite and Viva. Labels showcase a world of taste from various countries, offering an adventurous sip around the globe.

The missing flavors are still missing from Club Cool due to delays in shipments. Luckily the best flavor and my favorite, Viva, is still available.

I hope you enjoyed our soggy trip around Walt Disney World. Other than having wet feet for half the day I enjoyed the cool day in the parks.

My favorite moment was starting the day with meeting Mickey and Minnie Mouse with no wait. That will always be super cool. Let me know if you had a favorite moment or find from today’s adventure in the comments below.
