Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 have landed on Batuu. The characters are now appearing in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland for Season of the Force 2025.

Like other Galaxy’s Edge characters, Luke and R2 are roaming so guests might have to search to find them — but they stand out considering one is in a black cloak and the other is a droid. Luke is depicted in his “Return of the Jedi” gear, with a black glove on his right hand. They enter and exit near the marketplace.

A figure resembling Luke Skywalker in a black robe and cape stands outdoors on a stone path, surrounded by lush greenery and pink blossoming trees, evoking a scene from a distant galaxy.

R2-D2 has appeared in Galaxy’s Edge before but not for many years and never regularly. This is Luke’s first appearance in Galaxy’s Edge. His young appearance is anachronistic to the land’s time period, which is generally set between “Star Wars” episodes 8 and 9. This isn’t the first time Disneyland has toyed with the timeline, though.

Season of the Force is a celebration of “Star Wars” at Disneyland from March 28 through May 11, crossing over May the 4th a.k.a. Star Wars Day. The celebration also includes a new nighttime projection show on the Batuu spires, the return of the “Fire of the Rising Moons” dessert party, an updated Hyperspace Mountain, special food and beverage items, merchandise, and a new Sa’vi’s Workshop storyline.
