The Seuss Landing entrance at Universal Islands of Adventure is looking worse for the wear with damage on its large pillars.
Seuss Landing Entrance
Three yellow and blue-striped pillars make up the entryway leading to and from Port of Entry.

Some of the pillars have holes, as though from old hardware, but there was nothing previously mounted at these spots. There is also bad chipping in the paint and stains.

Seuss Landing has undergone multiple construction projects in the past few years, including around the entrance. In 2023, construction walls blocked off the water features. The year earlier, the top half of the entrance arch was torn down. See the picture below from Universal for comparison.
The top of the archway was never restored.
Meanwhile, the nearby Green Eggs and Ham sign was removed in the fall of 2019. The restaurant was repainted but the sign didn’t return until November 2024. It was then promptly removed again this January and hasn’t returned.
The entire land went through a major repainting in early 2022. Caro-Seuss-el and the “If I Ran the Zoo” playground both underwent refurbishments. Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous reopened early last year after a long refurbishment. And the Sneetches returned to their beaches last summer after a 2 1/2-year absence.
The Seuss Landing construction followed the 2021 announcement from Dr. Seuss Enterprises that they would stop publishing and licensing six Dr. Seuss books because they “portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong.” At that time, Universal said they would evaluate the use of these books in Seuss Landing. Although there has been significant construction, no references to the six books — including “If I Ran the Zoo” — were removed. The only change seemingly related to hurtful stereotypes was the removal of the “Brown & Blacks” ICEE sign. The sign, a reference to “Hop on Pop” characters, was not related to racial terms but could be construed as such.
