Full Guide to Lunar New Year 2026 at Disney California Adventure

The Lunar New Year 2026 Celebration is underway at Disney California Adventure, with special character meet and greets, entertainment, festival food, merchandise, and more to commemorate the Year of the Horse.

Dates and Location

Lunar New Year is celebrated at Disney California Adventure from Friday, January 23 through Sunday, February 22, 2026. The actual new year begins on Tuesday, February 17.

The festival mostly takes place in Performance Corridor and Paradise Gardens, but Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession travels through the park and dining locations throughout offer special food items.

Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession

Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession travels from Hollywood Land through Performance Corridor to Paradise Gardens. It begins at these times:

12:45 p.m.
2:30 p.m.
5 p.m.
6:45 p.m.

Hurry Home – A Lunar New Year Celebration Water Short

Hurry Home is a pre-show performed before World of Color Happiness! The nighttime spectacular begins at 9 p.m. and Hurry Home is about 6 minutes, so guests can catch it beginning at 8:54 p.m.

Character Meet and Greets

Up to date character meet and greet times are available in the Disneyland app.

Meet Horace Horsecollar, Goofy & Clarabelle, or Donald & Daisy

Horace Horsecollar, Goofy and Clarabelle Cow, and Donald Duck and Daisy Duck meet at a Lunar New Year backdrop in Grizzly Peak. Horace, wearing a Chinese-inspired red and gold costume, meets every day, alternating times with the couples.

Guests will find Goofy and Clarabelle meeting on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. They wear Vietnamese-inspired outfits in green (Goofy) and pink (Clarabelle).

Donald and Daisy will appear in their Chinese-inspired hanfu on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Meet Mickey & Minnie or Mulan & Mushu

Mickey and Minnie alternate with Mulan and Mushu in the Paradise Gardens gazebo. Both pairs appear daily.

Mickey and Minnie are in Korean-inspired outfits. Mickey’s costume is shades of blue while Minnie’s is mostly pink.

Meet Red Panda Mei

For the first time, Disney California Adventure guests can meet Mei from Turning Red in her red panda form. She’s meeting at the Pixar Pier Bandshell.

Activities

Guests can put their new year wishes on the Lunar New Year Wishing Wall in Paradise Gardens.

Chinese calligraphy artists located in Paradise Gardens can artistically write guests’ new year wishes for guests to keep as souvenirs.

Food and Beverage

Sip and Savor Pass

The three Sip and Savor Pass designs pay homage to Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean cultures with artwork by Ann Shen. Passes are $49 each ($46 for Magic Key holders) and include six digital coupons for select food and non-alcoholic beverages. Check out our guide to the Sip and Savor Pass.
