More queue railings have been installed outside Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, and the entrance wall has been painted white.

The Magic Kingdom attraction has been closed since last summer for a major overhaul. Decorative elements were removed from the entrance in January. Paint was later stripped away and new concrete was set around the entrance doors. This concrete and surrounding walls has been painted a fresh white.

We don’t know if this white is the final color or a primer for more paint. The white does match other areas of Tomorrowland like the PeopleMover track above. New decorations could also be added to the facade in the coming days.

Queue handrails were installed directly behind the construction walls, along with light poles, last week. Now there are pairs of railings running to either side of the entrance doors, behind the sign.

Though Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has an expansive indoor queue, the outdoor queue is frequently used during busy times.

New Lightning Lane touchpoints were also installed last week and remain covered by green tarps. The railings on that side of the entrance will likely be for the extended Lightning Lane.

We got a good look at the base of the new attraction sign. A metallic panel on the white base features space imagery, including what appears to be Pizza Planet symbols.

In addition to the queue railings on either side of the doors, there is a small railing directly in front of the doors, dividing the entrance into two — a stand-by queue and the Lightning Lane.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will reopen on April 8 with new ride vehicles, handheld blasters, interactive targets, and more updates. Cast members are playtesting the refurbished attraction this weekend and next week.
