Now reopening on April 8, 2026, two Lightning Lane touchpoints have been installed for Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom.
Lightning Lane Touchpoints

Yesterday, we noticed queue railings and light poles installed around the attraction. As of this morning, there are now two Lightning Lane touchpoints installed to the right of the ride sign. Both currently have green covers. This latest installation comes just a few days after the entrance concrete was finished.
The pavement outside Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin was torn up in January to make way for the new entrance features. Crew members began pouring new concrete a few weeks ago. Now the pavement is filled in. The sign sits on an elevated platform directly in front of the ride’s entry doors.

We now know that the ride will reopen next month, and Disney recently teased Toy Story 5 Easter eggs and more surprises in the updated ride.
This ride will have all-new ride vehicles, replacing the original 1970s If You Had Wings vehicles. Guests will wield new handheld blasters and aim at updated interactive targets. The vehicles will have new displays and a revamped scoring system. A new training scene at the beginning of the ride introduces Buddy the robot. The climactic battle scene is also getting updated.
