Gorilla Family Returns to Enclosure at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

After a window had to be repaired at their enclosure, the apes made their way back into the animal enclosure, facing guests, after staying backstage for nearly two weeks.

We reported on March 2 that not all of the gorillas were in public view at Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail due to a refurbishment of their habitat. On March 5, cast members confirmed the gorilla family was temporarily backstage. The bachelor males remained out in their separate space. Reportedly, one of the gorillas was picking at a gasket between the glass panels and damaged it.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is home to several Lowland Gorillas. Last year, senior gorilla Gino passed away at age 44. It now appears all gorillas have made their way back into the Gorilla Falls.

The Angola colobus monkey exhibit was also recently refurbished, with the monkeys returning in late February.

In other Animal Kingdom news, concrete has been poured for the foundation of the new Carousel at the Tropical Americas construction site, as Dinosaur’s marquee has been removed, and the Affection Section at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been renamed for the upcoming Bluey Takeover. Meanwhile, ‘Hoppers’ activity books have been sighted at the entrance of the park.
