Construction continues to progress at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to retheme Muppets Courtyard into Monstropolis.

During our April 14 visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to check on the Monstropolis construction progress, we noticed another entrance pillar was removed.

For reference, this is what the entrance pillar looked like yesterday (located on the far left side of the photo):

The stripped column was visible above the image of Sulley on the construction walls.

The stripped column was visible above the image of Sulley on the construction walls. The matching pillar and brick wall on the right side of the entrance were removed back in March.

In the concept art of the land, there will be new entrance pillars topped with winged statues. The pillars may be taking inspiration from the entrance to Monsters University.

Construction continues to progress on various areas. Gonzo’s Royal Flush restroom area is covered in scrim and surrounded by scaffolding. The rooftop water tower is surrounded by scaffolding as well, suggesting retheming changes are occurring (or about to occur).

Other buildings are covered in clear plastic as they are being worked on.

The clock tower and former Muppet*Vision 3D theater are also surrounded by scaffolding with crews actively working on the facade. One clock face of the tower is still visible.
