The roof has been removed from the large spaceship-like tower near the entrance to Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom. Two other towers were removed earlier this month and the roof of this tower was covered by scrim earlier this week.
Tomorrowland Tower Demolition

The tower is on the left side of the Tomorrowland bridge (when entering from the Hub). Its domed roof is gone but support legs and rings remain.

The remaining pieces are significantly faded and rusted. We don’t know if Disney has plans for new themed elements to go in these areas or if they are simply removing the old towers.

For reference, above is the remains of the tower today and what the area looked like with a second tower back in February. All the space-themed towers were installed in 1994, when Tomorrowland went through a major reimagining.

From Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, we could see inside the tower, where a piece of scrim covers a panel of the red ring’s interior.

There is still green scrim covering the ground where a tower used to be outside Tomorrowland Terrace.
Tomorrowland Changes

Changes to Tomorrowland began back in 2018 as Disney prepared for the opening of TRON Lightcycle Run (originally scheduled for 2021 but delayed to 2023). Tomorrowland 1994 elements like the spaceship facade on Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, interactive Robo-Newz, and GCN phone booth were all removed.
The Tomorrowland entrance archway was torn down and replaced with a sleeker entrance in 2019. Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. was reimagined into Tomorrowland Launch Depot. The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover debuted new narration in 2022.

The entrance rocks, another staple of the 1994 update, are sticking around and were recently repainted. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin was reimagined, including an updated entrance better matching the land’s other theming changes.
