Welcome to another gloomy, though mostly rain-free, day at Disney Springs! While the weather once again was sub-optimal for a day out, that didn’t seem to stop many people from making the trip out, including us. Let’s take a look at what we found today.

Disney Springs Crowds 6 7 20 2
Disney Springs Crowds 6 7 20 1

Bright and early – well, early at least – the scene was pretty quiet. This isn’t so much an indication of the weather, but more the “new normal” as guests realize they can do little more than order a drink from Starbucks before 10:00 am.

Marketplace Co Op 6 7 20

Marketplace Co-Op seems to have gotten the memo and opted not to do virtual queue signups early in the day. World of Disney has continued offering it each day, though fewer and fewer guests are opting to utilize it.

Later in the morning, but still prior to Word of Disney opening, a handful of guests were taking leisurely strolls around the Springs.

Just before 10:00 am, a small crowd started to gather. With only a few dozen guests looking to enter World of Disney at opening, most have stopped bothering to sign up for the virtual queue in the morning.

World of Disney 6 7 20

Once inside, we sadly were not treated to the same amount of new merchandise as we were yesterday, such as the Neon Splatter Spirit Jersey, Mickey Balloon and Enchanted Tiki Room Loungefly backpacks, and doughnut-shaped pool floats for beverages. There were, however, a couple of new items.

Ducky and Bunny Socks 6 7 20 1
Ducky and Bunny Socks 6 7 20 2

First off, these Ducky and Bunny socks bounced on in. These are youth-sized socks, though, so if you’re an adult with adult-sized feet, these aren’t for you.

Forky Socks 6 7 20 1

Forky has also received a pair of socks, but this time for adults! For additional details and pricing on both pairs of these Toy Story 4 socks, check out our post on them by clicking here.

Splatter and Tie Dye Spirit Jerseys 6 7 20

We mentioned those Neon Splatter Spirit Jerseys, and Marketplace Co-Op is now carrying them as well. They’re at Tren-D, lined up right next to these tie-dye versions, so you can easily choose the colorful style that’s right for you.

Vera Bradley Masks 6 7 20

Speaking of colorful variety, Vera Bradley has their selection of mask styles literally on hand for guests to pick their favorite. These sell for $8.00 each.

Shore Masks 6 7 20

Unfortunately, the same was not true at Shore. While they’ve had a table set up at their entrance with baskets full of masks for the past several days, they’ve now completely sold out of them. Likewise, American Threads has sold out of their masks as well.

Sephora Mask 6 7 20

Sephora still has their masks in stock for $10.00 each, but as with Shore and American Threads, there’s no guarantee they’ll last.

Aerophile Grounded 6 7 20

Something that hasn’t lasted was the reopening of Aerophile. While it’s still operational, the poor weather has resulted in a lot of downtime, including today.

Amphicar 6 7 20

The Amphicars, however, are continuing to launch pretty regularly. At a discounted price of $75.00 for the trip, more guests are willing to take the plunge.

Disney Springs Flags 6 7 20

While not great for hot air balloons, Disney Springs’ set of flag poles are probably appreciating a nice breeze.

These quiet times where the weather isn’t exactly perfect is nice for walking around and grabbing pictures.

Disney Springs Stormtroopers 6 7 20 1

I think this Stormtrooper spotted us, so let’s not linger.

lululemon Construction 6 7 20 1

Getting back to business, let’s talk about construction. The crew at lululemon were putting in some Sunday time to keep this project moving forward – and hopefully on-schedule.

MMS Store 6 7 20

The new M&M’S Store location hasn’t given us much to see since the walls went up. We imagine there will be some fairly significant work done to the exterior to combine what was formerly two separate units.

Ample Hills Construction 6 7 20

Ample Hills Creamery is a bit of a mystery. The new location, that we found out about this past September, seems to be in jeopardy as a result of Ample Hills recently declaring bankruptcy.

Beatrix Construction 6 7 20

Beatrix, which was announced nearly a year ago, is taking the real estate formerly held by Bongo’s Cuban Cafe. The restaurant and coffeehouse will offer healthier food options, including grab-and-go items.

Homecomin 6 7 20

Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ is adding on the “Shine Bar + Social” to its location. Crews have been fairly active, working nearly every day since Disney Springs reopened.

City Works Construction 6 7 20 1
City Works Construction 6 7 20 2

City Works Eatery & Pour House hasn’t had any activity over the weekend. The restaurant will be reopening on June 10th, only four days away as of this writing, and it’s not looking like the new canopy structure will be ready for that event.

Vivoli Door Ajar 6 7 20

Speaking of reopening announcements, Vivoli il Gelato was supposed to reopen on May 22nd. Clearly, that has not happened, but today we saw some additional signs of life via a slightly open door. We’ve also seen some changes happening inside, so the opening shouldn’t be too far off.

Ganachery Chocolate 6 7 20

We saw The Ganachery was hard at work today, cooking up some of their famous chocolate – a clear sign that a reopening won’t be far off.

AMC Disney Springs 6 7 20

Even though Florida has entered its “Phase 2” of reopening, there’s been no word on when AMC Disney Springs 24 might reopen. Given the uncertainty for movie theaters as a whole, there’s really no telling when this will happen.

House of Blues Live Music 6 7 20 1

If entertainment is what you’re after, the return of live music outside of House of Blues Restaurant & Bar is a hugely welcomed addition to the limited lineup at Disney Springs.

Rounding out our visit, we like to assess the crowd levels. As you might expect, things start to pick up over the weekend, especially in the afternoon and leading into the evening. While some of the angles on these photos might suggest people are packed fairly closely, guests generally maintained a fair amount of distance from other parties in most cases.

Thank you for joining us on our daily trip to Disney Springs to check out all of the action. Of all the restaurants, retail shops, and experiences that have yet to open, which one are you most looking forward to visiting again? Let us know in the comments!

  1. City Works is what I’m most psyched about checking out.
I love the burgers at Planet Hollywood, so I’m hoping the bar seating will open soon. (I’m more comfortable on a solo-trip eating at the bar versus getting my own table, but I will if I have to)
Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar would be awesome to visit, but I’m not holding my breath it’ll open before I leave on 6/17.
