We bring you a lot of stories every single day. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up. So in case you missed anything from our feed, we have rounded up all our stories in one place to get the news at a glance. Here is your Daily Recap for Friday, January 15, 2021.
Walt Disney World
EPCOT
- Greetings, World Travelers, and welcome to another beautiful day at EPCOT where, despite being a quiet day, we still found some new things to show you in our most recent photo report
- When Disney announced the removal of the ‘Leave A Legacy’ display just inside the entrance to EPCOT, they assured guests the monoliths would live on in a new spot just outside the park gates and though COVID-19 has caused construction delays throughout Walt Disney World, scrims have finally gone up over the new ‘Leave A Legacy’ location
- The transformation of EPCOT has been making strides recently, so we dropped in to see what’s new in World Celebration and we noticed more walls up and more windows installed at Mouse Gear
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- We started our day with the animals at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and then headed over to Disney Springs to assess things at the shopping and dining district, and everywhere we went we found loads of new merchandise and food to show you in our most recent photo report
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- The Peanut Butter Crunch Cupcake has returned to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where it was previously available at the Trolley Car Café, and can now be found at Rosie’s All-American Café
Disney Springs
- Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs celebrated today’s release of “WandaVision” on Disney+ with these cute new petite TV-shaped cakes, one inspired by the 50s and one inspired by the 60s, that feature the stars of the show
- Just a day after we checked out the completed façade of the M&M’s store at Disney Springs, a giant “M” sign has been added
- Stopping by Disney Springs’ many Exposition Park food trucks is often an excellent choice, with choices rolling in and out, including some that you just can’t miss but unfortunately, our visit to the Mac & Cheese food truck made us never want to return to Exposition Park after trying their Mac & Cheese Fritters
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
- Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle and Parks & Resorts Chairman Josh D’amaro recently toured the rooms of the upcoming Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel and have shared some photos of the walkthrough on Vahle’s Instagram account
- The California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, which reopened in July, has added several new allergy-friendly items to their menu and updated their oak-fired filet of beef dish
Other Walt Disney World News
- Operating hours have just been posted for Walt Disney World theme parks through Saturday, April 3, 2021
- The Centers for Disease Control Prevention (CDC) has updated its requirements for international travelers flying into the United States — travelers must now show proof of a negative COVID-19 test or recovery from COVID-19 before flying
- Hours at all four Walt Disney World theme parks have been extended from January 31 through February 6, 2021
- In the wake of Disneyland ending its Annual Passholder program, Premier Passport (Walt Disney World and Disneyland combined pass) holders will need to renew the Walt Disney World portion of their annual pass by calling V.I.PASSHOLDER support, and if a call is not made by that date the Walt Disney World side of the pass will be discontinued as well
Disneyland Resort
- Even though we can’t celebrate Mardi Gras in New Orleans (or New Orleans Square) like usual, or enjoy Mint Julep Bar’s iconic beignets, visitors to Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney can still get in the Mardi Gras spirit with these delightful new Mardi Gras beignets
Tokyo Disney Resort
- For the first week of the new year (extended all the way to January 30th this year), Mickey, Minnie, and several other Disney Friends dress up in traditional Japanese clothing such as kimono and greet Guests at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea and this year, we were lucky enough to enjoy the New Year’s Greeting at Tokyo Disneyland, and you can see the whole thing for yourself below in our videos section, or right here
- Amid severely reduced capacity and hours at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, the Oriental Land Company has posted lists of dozens of shops that will be temporarily closed once again as early as January 15th
New Merchandise
- Ever famous for its adorable (and occasionally strange) merchandise, Tokyo Disney Resort has made their next advance to our wallets and hearts with these adorable new character-themed cable protectors
- Face masks are the “new norm,” but that doesn’t mean they have to be boring and these new face masks featuring Disney Dogs, Disney Cats, and some favorite Pixar characters, now available at Disney Stores, are anything but boring
- A new Bubble Blowing Chip Teacup and Spoon Set has been found in World of Disney at the Disneyland Resort, and it may just be the cutest we have ever seen
- If you love Coca-Cola and Disney, swing by the Coca-Cola store at Disney Springs for some new Coca-Cola x Disney merchandise including a baseball cap, keychains, a stuffed Coca-Cola polar bear plush, and more
The Walt Disney Company
- Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced during a press conference Thursday that former Disney CEO Bob Iger and his wife Willow Bay, dean of the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, have donated $5 million of their fortune to aid Los Angeles small businesses struggling through the COVID-19 pandemic
