Hola, hallo, or simply hello! It may have been a stormy day, but that didn’t stop us from traveling around the world and into the future at EPCOT. We saw lots of changes to physical distancing and safety measures around the park today, and we also found a few more surprises along the way. Let’s jump in!

A few days ago we learned that face coverings would become optional for fully vaccinated guests in most areas at Walt Disney World Resort on June 15th, and that day was today! Around EPCOT, we saw many guests go maskless indoors and on attractions.

Although face coverings are no longer required indoors, old “Masks On At All Indoor Locations” signage still remains around the park. It is of course not being enforced anywhere that these signs are posted.

Along with the updated face coverings policy, it seems that Disney has almost completely abandoned physical distancing procedures throughout queues and other indoor areas. Ground markers do remain in some locations throughout Walt Disney World.

At the Mexico Pavilion, we discovered that the queue system to enter the pavilion has been completely removed. Guests are allowed to freely walk in and out of the building, and once you are inside there is essentially no distancing apart from one random ramp divider that remains.

Further inside the pavilion, we noticed that Gran Fiesta Tour is now seating every single row. Plexiglass dividers still remain in the queue, however.

Construction continues in the Morocco Pavilion. We hope to see the fountain area return soon.

A few days ago we found that the theaters hosting Canada Far & Wide and Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along were now filling every row. Today, Reflections of China and Awesome Planet join those as well. Cast members are advising guests to fill in all available space and not asking guests to leave a seat between themselves and other parties.

Over at Living with the Land, we found that dividers had been removed from boats, and that they were seating every row. This comes a few days after distancing markers were completely removed from the queue.

Expedition Mars and Postcards From Space have both reopened in the Mission: SPACE Training Labs. This comes shortly after the reopening of Space Base playground. Space Race is the only other activity in the area to remain closed.

We faced rain, thunder, and lightning throughout our entire day. But, at one point a particularly large strike caused EPCOT to momentarily lose power. This resulted in many attractions having to temporarily close such as Frozen Ever After, Journey Into Imagination With Figment, The Seas with Nemo & Friends and more. Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom were also affected by this.

That pretty much wraps up our day! Thanks for following us around EPCOT. How do you feel about Walt Disney World changing their face covering policy? Make sure to leave us a comment letting us know! We’ll “see ya real soon!”

  1. Hello. I was wondering about two things. Did you notice Disney supplying masks on public transport since it is still required? I see myself or teens forgetting them in the room or dropping them somewhere? Then on the trip back to room no mask. Lol also, are cast members enforcing the children under 12 to keep their masks on? I bet it is a challenge with kids ripping ing them off and saying you don’t have to wear it!!! I know my children questioned everything. It must be very challenging to be a cast member nowadays. Lovely people have to really put up with so much! Thank you to all of them!!!
