Magic Kingdom
- Operating hours for Magic Kingdom have been extended for the park’s 50th anniversary on October 1 and the days after.
- Join us for the final performance of “Happily Ever After” at Walt Disney World!
- After being closed for over a year, the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade at Magic Kingdom has reopened.
- Academy Award-nominated actress Angela Bassett will narrate the new Disney Enchantment nighttime spectacular.
- The Disney Parks Blog hosted a livestream of the first ever performance of Disney Enchantment tonight at 10:15 p.m. ET.
EPCOT
- In the flurry of Walt Disney World news released this morning, Disney has officially confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will open next year.
- Disney has now shared that the pavilion, formerly known as the Universe of Energy Pavilion which was home to Ellen’s Energy Adventure, will now be known as the “Wonders of Xandar Pavilion.”
- Yesterday, we brought you a look at Spaceship Earth transformed into a Beacon of Magic and now, you can see the full show before it officially premieres tomorrow night.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- The pre-show of Muppet*Vision 3D at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been updated to include content from the upcoming “Muppets Haunted Mansion” special, which will debut on Disney+ on October 8.
- The newest addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet is sailing its way to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- The new daytime show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney KiteTails, soft opened today with two versions of the show: “The Lion King” and “The Jungle Book”.
- Unfortunately, the first performance of “The Lion King” was suddenly canceled after a jet ski flipped over during the show.
- At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, 50th anniversary pennies can be collected from the machines at Discovery Trading Company, Island Mercantile, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures.
- Primeval Whirl continues to be dismantled in DinoLand U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom following the attraction’s permanent closure.
Disney Springs
- The Sassagoula River Cruise will resume service to and from Disney Springs starting October 1.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
- Disney Vacation Club members will be able to enjoy their “home away from home” in a new way, as Disney has released new concept art for expanded and refreshed rooms coming to The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in the summer of 2022.
Other Walt Disney World News
- Disney has just announced MagicBand+, a new version of MagicBand which will interact with guests by providing light and haptic feedback from within the park.
- Guests will be able to stay at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel starting on March 1, 2022.
- General bookings for voyages on the Halcyon will become available on October 28, 2021.
- Eligible Disney Vacation Club members and Annual Passholders will be able to book their trip first, though, during a special pre-sale window.
- After giving us a brief look the other day, Walt Disney World has released preview footage of all four Beacon of Magic projection shows.
- New 50th anniversary MagicMobile ticket designs featuring some of the Disney Fab 50 statues are now available to My Disney Experience users.
- Even Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is getting in on the 50th anniversary celebration with a new refillable cup featuring the 50th anniversary logo at the water park.
Disneyland Resort
- “Muppets Haunted Mansion” is hitting Disney+ next week, and to promote the spooky and silly special, two new photo opportunities have arrived on the tram walkway at Disneyland Resort.
Tokyo Disney Resort
- The Oriental Land Company has announced some new treats to celebrate the winter season starting November 1!
- Although the State of Emergency is being lifted in all affected areas of Japan and government restrictions will ease, the Oriental Land Company announced today that the drastically reduced hours at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will continue until further notice, even as capacity doubles and ticket prices are hiked once again.
New Merchandise
- We found this retro letterman jacket at the Main Street Cinema in Magic Kingdom.
- More items from the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Luxe Logo collection have been revealed.
- A new Mickey Mouse plush is now available as part of the Vault Collection at Walt Disney World.
- Three new top-like toys resembling the Little Green Men from “Toy Story,” Pascal, and Stitch have arrived at Walt Disney World.
Entertainment and Media
- Deadline has reported that Disney and Scarlett Johansson have reached a settlement for the “Black Widow” lawsuit.
