The day is finally here! “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” began today. There is so much happening around Walt Disney World Resort. Get ready to “Glimmer and Shimmer” with the 50th Celebration.

We started our day out with a feast at the opening day of Steakhouse 71. The food was delicious, and the wall art was a great walk down memory’s lane.

We hopped over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to check out what they had going on for the 50th Celebration. Oh, boy! We were in for a treat(s)!

First on our list was the 50th Celebration Sandwich Cookie. It tasted like a sweet peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Our next tasty treat was the Glimmer and Shimmer Pineapple Mousse. We came across this 50th themed snack at The Trolley Car Café. It was a taste of paradise.

Sticking with the “Glimmer and Shimmer” theme, we tried the Glimmer and Shimmer Funnel Cake from Epic Eats. While the golden chocolate-dipped Oreos were a pleasant surprise, the funnel cake was basic, with nothing standing out.

We found some drinks to help quench our thirst after all those sugary treats. The Shimmer Over the Moon and the Magical Beacon Cocktail are sure to cool you down on a hot day.

The Glimmer and Shimmer Blondie takes the cake for the best 50th themed snack at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This yummy treat was rich, delectable, and perfect for sharing.

On our way out of the theme park, we spotted a new white 50th Celebration EARidescent balloons. Now, we head over to EPCOT for some entertainment and more tasty treats.

We caught the JAMMitors as they were performing next to Spaceship Earth.

At Sunshine Seasons, we happened upon two new 50th Celebration treats. The mini chocolate bundt cake and the lemon chiffon cake. Both make a great dessert but, we prefer the lemon chiffon cake over the mini bundt cake.

We also tasted the Remy Cheesecake because it looked too cute to pass up. We should have passed! This cheesecake tasted like old cheese.

In the Italy Pavilion, we were excited to watch Sergio the Italian Mime perform again. We loved participating in his act.

We snacked on an EARidescent croissant doughnut from the EPCOT experience. This “cronut” was beautiful in color and lacking in taste. Now, we head back to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to watch the Hollywood Tower Hotel light up as a Beacon of Magic.

We loved watching one of the icons of the Walt Disney World Resort transform into Beacon of Magic. There are two versions, which alternate, every 15 minutes starting at dusk. We hope you have enjoyed celebrating the 50th birthday of Walt Disney World with us! See ya real soon, pals.
