Walt Disney World
Magic Kingdom
- More window displays have been updated on the exterior of the refurbished Main Street Confectionery.
- Over in the hub, all signage for ‘Happily Ever After’ has finally been removed.
- Two new platforms have been added to the stage in front of Cinderella Castle.
- Disney Genie and Genie+ will have an AR filter that lets guests take a photo in front of old versions of Cinderella Castle to celebrate the park’s 50th anniversary.
EPCOT
- The props on the exterior wall of the Northwest Mercantile at the Canada Pavilion of World Showcase have returned.
- And the walls surrounding the former temporary Mouse Gear have been removed.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and Disney Movie Magic nighttime show will soon be making their return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Primeval Whirl continues to be torn down after its official closure was announced last year.
Other Walt Disney World News
- The minimum wage for most Walt Disney World Cast Members has officially been raised to $15.
- As part of Disney’s ongoing inclusivity efforts, the gender-neutral “Mx.” prefix is now an option when creating or updating a My Disney Experience profile.
- Indoor character meet and greet experiences will finally be returning to Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
- In addition to character meet and greets, more live entertainment will be returning including Yeeha Bob Jackson, musical performers at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and more.
- For Annual Passholders, a new mobile hub and special tapstile entrance experience will be coming this month.
- Walt Disney World welcomed a new motor cruiser, Tradewinds, to the watercraft fleet.
- A new 50th Anniversary VIP Tour will be available starting October 26th.
Disneyland Paris
- Disneyland Paris confirmed that performances of “The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands” will resume on October 23, 2021, after being closed for a year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
New Merchandise
- A new 50th-themed trinket box is now available from the Arribas Brothers at Crystal Arts on Main Street.
- Even more Walt Disney World 50th anniversary merchandise has arrived at the Emporium including a trinket tray, snow globes, ornaments, leggings and more.
- A new Walt Disney World Spirit Jersey track jacket and matching pants debuted at DisneyStyle in Disney Springs.
- Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has several new themed items, including toys and apparel.
- Two new Artist Series shirts arrived at Walt Disney World from two new artists — Deborah Salles and Rafael Faria.
- Three new long-sleeved shirts featuring Hei Hei from “Moana,” Darth Vader from “Star Wars,” and Animal from the Muppets are now available at Disneyland Resort.
- Several new Marvel-inspired Apple Watch bands featuring Loki, Iron Man, and more characters are also now available at Disneyland Resort.
- New limited edition “Fearly Departed” Disney Villains pins are now available at Walt Disney World.
- More DINOSAUR toys have returned from extinction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
- New nostalgic anniversary merchandise will be coming to Tokyo DisneySea starting on November 1st.
WDW News Today
- Our new “50 Years of Vacation Magic” product line is now on sale on Carousel of Products.
