The annual gingerbread carousel opened at Disney’s Beach Club Resort and this year’s display is inspired by DuckTales World Showcase Adventure at EPCOT. We glimpsed the carousel still under construction on Wednesday but it is now complete.
DuckTales Gingerbread Carousel
The carousel, which actually spins, is behind a white fence in the lobby of Disney’s Beach Club Resort.
A gingerbread podium features a message from the culinary team.
Greetings Adven-Sharers!
This year’s carousel is themed after the DuckTales World Showcase Adventure at EPCOT!
Take a stroll over and play!
Happy exploring and Happy Holidays!
Woo-hoo!
It also features an image of Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby, and a trail of orange duck footprints.
Each horse is inspired by a different World Showcase country that is part of the DuckTales World Showcase Adventure, an interactive mobile game played with the Play Disney Parks mobile app.
This first horse represents the Mexico “Adven-share.” The horse is black with white bones, the Mexico flag and a sugar skull hanging from its saddle, a sombrero, a piñata, and flowers.
Webby is peering out of a vase, which she also pops out of during the game. On the ground next to her is an orange webbed footprint.
More duck prints lead around the carousel’s base and up its center supports, which are both covered in plain gingerbread squares secured with white icing.
The next horse represents the U.K. Pavilion’s “Adven-share,” which dials in on Scotland as Scrooge prepares for a golf game against Flintheart Glomgold. The globe featuring Glomgold’s face is atop the horse’s saddle, which features a U.K. flag butterfly and green tartan.
The Germany Pavilion-inspired horse has curly brown locks, a green and brown saddle with a cuckoo clock on it, and one of Donald’s nephews sitting on top.
The fourth horse represents the France Pavilion’s “Adven-share.” The horse is white with a yellow mane and tail.
Its saddle features stone-inspired elements, blue flowers, books, and an Eiffel Tower lamp, which is featured in the adventure. Louie is diving across the saddle, holding the fragile Faber-Jay Egg of Louis XIV½.
Dollops of white icing on the roof of the carousel represent snow.
The overhang features sugar medallions of the World Showcase country flags and “DuckTales” characters.
The characters are each pictured with a flag and prop from the game.
Gingerbread Mickey heads line the base of the carousel.
On top is the Spaceship Earth figure from the EPCOT Reimagined merchandise collection.
The “DuckTales” logo is attached to Spaceship Earth with more white snowy icing.
Sweet treats are also available at a kiosk nearby and the Beach Club gingerbread pin is available.
