Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park closed early today, December 12, after being open for just two hours due to cold weather.
The water park opened at its usual 10:00 a.m. opening time, but closed a 12:00 p.m. Temperatures reached below 60 degrees Fahrenheit the morning before the park was officially closed. Currently, Blizzard beach is scheduled to be opened tomorrow during its normal operating hours of 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. The day is set to be a bit warmer, with a high of 75 degrees Fahrenheit and a low of 64 degrees Fahrenheit, according to Weather.com.
The winter season has brought on a number of closures to the water park since its reopening for the season on November 6, after closing in March of this year for its annual refurbishment.
This season, it closed early on November 16, was closed entirely on Thanksgiving Day, and the following day, November 24. More low temperatures caused the water park to be closed on Tuesday, November 28, and Wednesday, November 29. it closed again on December 6 and December 7, also due to low temperatures. The most recent closure was just yesterday, November 11.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is one of two water parks on Walt Disney World property. The other, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, runs on an alternating schedule with Blizzard Beach. It closed for the season on November 6, the day Blizzard Beach reopened.
